it's just asking what negative two times positive five is.

2 times 5 is 10. because there is 1 negative, the answer is negative.

    so.....-10

one negative means the answer is negative.
two negatives or positives means the answer is postive

    in bigger problems:
odd amount of negatives (3,5,7,9...) makes the answer negative
even number (4,6,8...) makes the answer positive

    does that help?
is that all there is to the problems?

    There's also *looks at sheet*

division and one question asking me to find the product of two numbers in the format displayed above. I think product means multiplying them? I wish i paid more attention in maths, i don't remember this atall >_>

the same theory applies for division (about negatives)

and yea, product is multiplying. they probably want u to just wrtie it out like they did in parentheses (i think i spelt that wrong...)

Pre-calc I took at the start of last year (at your age). That was fun (sorry I love math  ). But now I'm in AP Stats and I think I'm going to shoot someone :eusa_doh: .

I'm good at Math, but I don't like it 'cause I forget how to do stuff if I don't practice it.
For example, I took Stats & Geometry last year.
    I remember :***:.

well.....geometry i can do if u leave me alone....

i lik doin math not the normal way....i make up ways that confuse other people...

i usually do a problem in the heat of the moment and then look back at the random numbers scribbled down and hav no idea how i got the answer...

    Ha Ha Ha.
    Same here.

I kick ass at maths. I think a little while ago I was given a problem along the lines of 27*98 and got it in a couple of seconds - indeed, faster than the guy using his calculator.

Mind you, that's an easy one. You just work out that 27*100=2700, and subtract 2*27 to get 2646. Smoke and mirrors... hide behind the big numbers, and pretend you get straight to the answer rather than working it out in easy parts.

Incidentally, I use * instead of X, for secret secret reasons known only to programmers.

  18. haha I use the * too only because we were taught that the X could be mistaken for a variable. Which, no doubt is a different reason than yours

Um, I can help up through multivariable calculus if anyone needs math help.

lol, but I seriously can. The homework I'm working on is a problem set of triple integrals. Fun stuff (not really).

    (Edit)
I can also help with AP stat if anyone needs it. I took AP Calc BC and AP Statistics last year.

And if anyone's wondering why I know all this, it's because I've skipped like 3 math classes.

it's so much fun!! (everyone loves to do math stuff in other classes, right?)

    like 11 times 34 is 374! and 11 times 61 is 671!

    i luuuuuuuuuuv 11's!
