Was anybody else here affected by the 6.0 earthquake today?

I was sooo scared. Ran around the house yelling for my dad to wake up so he wouldn't die xD

I was shocked, even though I am on the west coast, and used to those earthquakes.

there was a 5.3 earthquake last night in colorado, so I went to bed wondering what geologic processed caused that one so far from a subduction zone or volcanic hot spot.

my only idea about the east coast one is that there is a huge fault zone in the midwest that was formed during the last ice age that since the retreat of the ice, the faults sets of earthquakes everyonce in a while because the ground is still getting used to not having the huge weight of the ice.

I am from oregon... I am used to the threat of earthquakes and volcanos. I can go to a hill near the house where i grew up, and see 3 volcanos on a clear day.

At first I didn't think anything of it. My house would shake during construction in the area or when big trucks occasionally speed by. Shaking is still happening and I'm thinking "hell no, that cant be what I think it is?" My stuff started swaying, a few lightweight things fell so then I'm like "yep...BYE" and run out of my room. I'm so glad I didn't have work today.

I didn't feel anything. I was at home on the phone with a friend and then my mom texted me and asked if anything happened. I said no, and then she said her desk shook and that the courthouse was swaying. Disappointing earthquakes are disappointing I guess.

I was sitting in my room, on EC. I was just sitting there like "What the heck?!" And then it stopped. Kind of funny though, my mother's boyfriend thought I was doing exercises in my room XD
