It's probably no secret to people I know IRL, but I have built a wall of anger when people try and help because I'm not used to people helping me. Or when I have let someone into my life to help, I end up getting burned.

To me, hideous comes from the inside. You ever buy some food product that comes in a really nice package...and the food sucks rocks? I've met people like that. Where they seem quite fine on the outside, but once you find out what's inside, you learn not to be swayed by the packaging.
