This is interesting, but won't change anything. Christian fundamentalists cling to their beliefs too much. After all, Christians believe in a lot of things that are never actually described in the Bible. Angels as we know them--people with wings--are never described that way. They are described as creatures with wings used to obscure what they really look like and creatures made up entirely of animal heads and the like. Hell also isn't in the Bible. Satan, as we know him as a half-goat creature with red skin, isn't in the Bible either. Most people believe in these things despite that.

You are totally right in that some people, doesn't matter what you throw at them, won't ever change their minds on the topic. Its sad, but also very true. That's why you are going to be seeing a lot of movements, like the gay-christian movement, that are not necessarily trying to solely try to change the minds of homophobes, but to provide support and create hope for christians who are sometimes put in the position of having to choose between their belief and being themselves.
