how do you tell if you can sing?

I would say ask someone who's honest, or if u want to know if u can sing in tune u could get an electronic tuner and if it goes red than that's bad. The other option is u can go to a karaoke bar and see if u get booed of stage or not. lol. Maybe hijack sum1s singstar, I have no clue past that because If u ask a friend they could easily be lying if they say ur good.

 

Ask a sibling, they'll be brutally honest.

 

Record yourself.

haha yeah thats how my sister and I figured out which one of us could sing. It was clear I couldnt and as much as I didn't want to I had to admit to her that she has one hell of a singing voice.

 

Yea you do sound different, at least to yourself if u record yourself.

I would suggest going on Pop Idol/(wherever country u live) Idol or X-Factor It can't hurt

A good way to find out is to ask a qualified music teacher or someone you know who sings well and will give you an honest opinion. If you have the confidence, join a choir or a band. They'll let you know damn quick if you have any talent. One guy we auditioned was sent home after 2 minutes. And don't forget to practice. The recording will help a lot.

i wonder if i cud sing either. but i can tell myself i cudnt sing. even tho, i sing as loud as i want without caring who wud hear it.

 

Ive got no idea whether I can sing or not, but whenever I feel like it I sing as loud as I want. For instance, I always sing in the shower, whenever I'm home alone I usually put on some music and sing and I usually mouth the words to music when I go walking.

I don't think I can sing tho, cos I entered my school's version of Idol and only got to the first round of auditions...they said it was cos I didnt dance hehe

^Hehe it was only a comp run in my school and cos it was in my final year (second to last term) i figured if I was that crap, then I would only have to deal with people saying stuff about it for a couple of months...but no one did
