Default gaydar?

So I feel like I have absolutely no gaydar does anyone else feel like that? Maybe its just me but I think my gaydar is broken that or I'm that dense to stuff maybe because I'm attracted to both sexes?
So what is EC thoughts on gaydar?

The reason I'm thinking about it because there is this girl who I'm feeling like the more I get to know her the more I start crushing on her and she gives off a mixed vibe! One minute she seems super straight and the next minute she says things like there is no way I could get pregnant (reference to stomach cramps) based on the last time she had sex? Meaning like that could never happen (ie being a medical professional I can tell you if the bits and pieces are different there is always a chance no matter how careful you are) grrr I'm frustrated cuz I want to know what's her deal ya know

I second you there. I myself, hide quite easily under others gaydar and yet, seem not to have one of my own. In the long run I think gaydar is a myth because there isn't a set personality, appearance, nationality etc. etc. that determines whether you're gay or not. As for this woman, she seems kind've hit and miss, not sure what to tell ya'

gaydar is real. i think it's based off of looking for someone's insecurities with themselves as well as if they come off as a certain way. i don't think you can tell if someone is gay just by looking at them but rather how they interact. if you hang around someone for a good while, you'll pretty much figure them out. i can tell you that i pretty much have set off some gay guys radars off by how i act around them. they'll know.

I would say that everyones gaydar varies, but to be honest, mine seemed to tune itself in and come to life once i had accepted myself and saw no shame in reacting on it.

Maybe you will develop a better gaydar as you come out and dont care who sees you checking someone out.Hiding and mindgames dont work hand in hand with gaydar.

PS just my own findings,im sorry to say.

I keep wishing that I'd show up on someone's gaydar, but I guess my gayness just hides too well beneath the boobs -_- Or perhaps I'm just too good at hiding? Anyway, I think that the whole gaydar thing is primarily due to a person's perceptiveness and subconscious understanding of slight behavioural signals.

Interesting points I think I'm pretty observant but when I see people the first thing that comes to mind isn't gay straight or what have you I just see people! But your right the more I become open with myself and to others I might see more "gay" and maybe ill be seen more in return thanks!

I can't help but think that, like all aspects of your mind/body, you must exercise/practice it in order for it to work or be good at what you want it to do. Having only just come out I have not had very long to practice my gaydar as I have never been in any situation where I can calibrate my gaydar.

Now I just have to catch up.
