For those of you who live in the UK, I came across an e-petition some of you might like to sign: Option to put "None of The Above" on Ballot Paper - e-petitions
What happens if a majority of voters put 'None of the above'? In democratic terms, wouldn't that mean the people have rejected ALL the candidates, which mean none of them have a mandate to be elected... or rather, that there is a strong mandate that none of the choices should be allowed into power. Which could be something of a problem...
^ 100% agreeing. All the parties in Australia are stupid (Abbott's a redneck, Julia has no direction, and Bob Brown's a commie), but having a 'None of the Above' thing would screw things up. You could just not turn up (as I believe voting isn't compulsory in the UK)?
