the owner of the house should keep it. it was found on her property. now if it was like, in the middle of nowhere, then yes, the contractor can invoke "finders keepers" the contractor should be happy his greedy ass was even offered 10%, which is still a pretty nice hunk of change. it's amazing how greedy peoples are. EDIT: for once, it's not me posting a bizarre story! becky's tryin to take my job! haha
I agree with surfrboykai. Technically she owns the property, and the money is part of the property, so... So weird, though, that someone would stash THAT much money away in a house. I mean even today $182,000 is a phenomenal amount but imagine how much it must have been, relatively, when it was hidden!
Woah, I reckon she's one very generous woman to offer him any of the cash, let alone 10%. She could've easily knocked down the bathrooom wall herself and kept it all! The contractor is one greedy #$@!
The money was on her property so it is technically hers. The contracter was lucky she offered him any.
If the contractor wasn't entirely honest though, he could have hid the money from her and she would have never known it was in there. Hmmm.... I think the finders fee of 10%was fair to the contractor and he should be happy!
