I've actually had a few funny stories about run-in's with policemen.

Me and three friends went to mess around downtown, so the Hyatt hotel has this elevator like a glass tube similar to the Willy Wonka elevator. So we've been many times and the hotel is open (during certain times) basically to anyone, so we usually ride the elevator and then leave to the riverwalk. This time we decided to get off, at the top floor, so we're walking through the hallway and my friend Vanessa knocks on the door, we all started running down the hallway and go around the first corner and waited. So after a few minutes nothing happens so we continue down the hallway, at the end of it we see a door and on the other side was another door. So we form a line holding the doors with me at the hallway my friend Rosemarie holding the second door, Vanessa and Michael checking out what was beyond that. It was just a stairwell.

So I have a view of the hallway and see an upset/serious guy turn the corner and run so we all take off down the stairs. Me thinking it was the person from the room Vanessa knocked on. We get like a flight down and enter back into the hallways with me in front, Rosemarie, Vanessa, and Michael. Vanessa and Michael still just running from us running, and not knowing why. So halfway down the hall, the guy yells "STOP RUNNING OR HE'LL BE ARRESTED," we all kinda just stopped and realized he was a security cop and he'd caught Michael by the shirt.

It was so sad, he escorted us to the lobby and was like "What were you all doing?" "Why were you running if you didn't do anything wrong?" and my friend Michael was so nervous he tends to get attitude and talk really fast. The guy was like "Look just be quiet you aren't helping, and I can arrest you." So after clarification of why we did what we did, he noticed that me and Vanessa had our 'Drama' shirts on. We told him that tommorrow was our play, and I guess he saw that we were good kids and let us go.

So funny in retrospect, but it was scary at the time. Actually it was funny right after we knew we wouldn't get in trouble! haha

    So anybody have cop stories?

Hmm maybe I'm the only person who's had funny run in's with coppers. Anywho here goes another story.

Just a simple drive down the street to Wal-Mart during spring break and we get stopped, I was with three friends in a two door car with me behind the driver. She got stopped for having the liscense plate light out.... it was a bogus excuse to stop us since it was the beginning of spring break.

So they get really supspicious of us and made us all get out of the car, they thought we were high, partly because my friend Ashley (the driver) can't turn off her sense of humor even in serious situations. So I am struggling to get out of the back through the one door, and trip and stumble out of the car and make it seem like I'm drunk or something. Eventually they let us go. They kept giving me grief for looking drunk.

On that same stretch of road I got stopped once for forgetting to turn my headlights on! It had just turned dark and I wasn't in the car that does it automatically, haha!

Well once I was at the shopping centre with a few friends and we were playing one of the skill testers that involved a claw, conveyabelt and chocolate. We had figured out a way of tapping the machine gently to knock over the chocolate without spending that much money.
My friend tried to do it but nothing happened so then I tried and he told me to try harder so I was literally banging the side of the skill tester and then I turn around and there's a security guard. He just goes "Ahem!" and I freak out but then he walks away and we're back to tapping again. lol

Another time was when I was in the country, My friend was just riding his bike (without a helmet) and then a cop car pulls up and the cop says "why aren't u wearing a helmet?" my friend was frozen in fear, he forced out "It's not my bike, I'm just taking it to someone" and then strangely enough the cop just drove of after lecturing him for awhile

Anyway I think I have more stories but I cbf racking my brain

Well its not good for a child care provider to have run-ins with the police but I did have a few in my younger days. When I was 16 and got my drivers license, my parents handed me down their old car which was a '67 Buick Wildcat. It was a very LARGE car! I was one of the first of my friends to get my drivers license so it was very cool that we could actually DRIVE to lunch. Nobody wanted to get in the backseat so we piled 7 people in the front seat and only one brave soul got in the back. (or maybe she was the smart one!) I had my drivers license for one week. We pulled up to a stoplight and we were laughing and having fun like 16 year old girls do. It was a 4 lane street and there was a car beside me. Well I wasn't paying much attention when the car beside me started to go. It is legal (at least in Oregon) to turn on a red light which is what the car beside me was doing. Unfortuntely, I thought the light was green when that car moved forward. It was not and when I realized it was still red, I backed up almost running over the guy on the motorcycle behind me. Unfortunately, behind him was a police officer. He pulled me over. He looked at my license and says "You've only been driving a week, huh?" I nervously said "yes" and he said if I kept driving like that, I would not have my license much longer. Oops! He told me all the traffic violations he COULD site me for. Fortunately, he took pity on me and didn't fine me but he did highly recomend that some of my friends get in the backseat. I was more careful after that. My Dad would have killed me if I'd got a ticket one week after getting my drivers license.

my story is a bit embarressing. i'll just say this. i really wish i realized that suicide is like illegal. and that faking it isn't a good way to get ur mum to change her mind about not letting you see your girlfriend that weekend. they ripped the chains off my pants and handcuffed he hard. my wrists hurt for a week after. they asked me my name and i said 'guess' they start screaming and yelling at me and throw me in the car. i was very upset obviously and when i calmed down enough i explained what happened and he yelled at me and said that i should be taken to the hosptial luckily i got my mom to talk him out of it but he still too me to the local hospital while i road in the back handcuffed. worst night of my life. they evantually let me go from the hospital at 3am in the care of my mom who sent me to my dads for the night to make sure i still didn't kill myself. my dad whose had plently of run in and even was jailed for traffic violations before i was born was very sympathetic and understanding. my mom said if i ever did that again she'd send me to a permanent hospital! so lesson learned: stay away from cops and don't fake a suicide to get what you want.
btw my sis was taking a shower at the time and came out wet with just a towel to see her sister handcuffed and my mom talking to two policemen! lol
