Okay, so since this is bound to pop up sooner or later anyway... Here's a free place to vent about anything that's bugging you about this time of year. I have a couple.

    1) Christmas shopping with my bf has been taking me into a lot of Victoria's Secrets and places like that where I've been feeling disturbing amounts of jealousy toward the women shoppers and models =/

    2) I came out as gay last year a couple years before Christmas. My parents and I have just kind of avoided talking about it again since then, so I'm really starting to feel a little depressed for showing no progress of being accepted in that time. Plus it brings up memories of me feeling like I ruined Christmas =/

So if you've got something you wanna get off your chest about the holidays, here's your place to let it out.

ok the holidays are approaching and i'm 18 and still haven't had a real relationship. i haven't fond a relatinoship of any kind period. i'm only out to noe person and i figured i wanted to come out to a few more over winter break and i still don't feel like i can. i guess i might just have to force myself cuz that's sorta the best way to break out of the closet, no?

I always think about how nice it would be to spend the holidays with friends... sharing a special time with someone special to me, if not a mate then at least a good friend that I could show my appreciation for, and enjoy being around.

Of course, that all crumbles down when I remember I don't have any friends. x.x

Can't my family EVER make an arrangement that we are all happy with since Mum and Dad split? This year, I am at home with Mum for all of Christmas and then go to the grandparents' with Dad on Boxing Day. Dad and his girlfriend are at their house with her kids the whole time, until Dad takes my brother(s) and I to his parents. I would RATHER be with Dad, grandparents, and step-family the whole time, but then poor little Mother would feel left out.

Am I the only one who hates Christmas?

I feel its been ruined by corporations, greed, and the need to get get get.

This season is so hypocritical it drives me nuts!

Goodwill towward your fellow man, but beat the living hell outta each other for the last tickle me Furby, or whatever damn toy the give "have to have" this year.

Everyone should be happy this time of year, yet the suicide rate is always the highest.

If I could I'd invent a cryogenic chamber and just skip Dec all together.

I hate that every year my grandma gets me something that is really girly in an attempt to make me girly.

We usually take it back to the store that she got it at.

I hate that my grand-father won't spent Christmas at home this year. I hate that I'm going to wish him a merry christmas in his hospital bed. I hate that he won't be able to wish me a merry christmas because he can't talk anymore. And I hate more than anything the idea that it might be my last christmas with him.
I adore my grand-father. He always had been the sweetest, the most loving and supportive person in my life and I have no idea how christmas will ever feel like christmas again without him.

Everyone has someone to be with as a couple, and I feel kind of alone. I know I'm just 18, but it would be nice to be able to experience being with someone.

I'm not looking forward to the holiday traffic. The highways will be clogged with a mix of angry drivers, speeding maniacs, and those creeping along 20mph below the speed limit. Throw in the usual amount of trucks, along with an abundance of RVs, and you've got the recipe for a fun drive.

I know... my drive is usually 4 hours. Last year it turned into 6 hours.

Wow, so I was just looking at my OP and realized this made no sense.

That should have said, I came out as gay last year a couple weeks before Christmas.

That really sucks... hopefully since I'm leaving my school a little late (I have an exam on the last day of exams), I'll miss a lot of the school traffic. But I still have to deal with the increased shopping/travel traffic.

I agree! I always feel left out when one of my older college friends invites me to her party every year where she basically rubs it in my face that I'm still a child and she's got a girlfriend.
