Let's all commiserate about the worst music we only hear this time of year.

To start us off, I submit... Christmas Shoes.

I hate this song so much, Im not even going to post a video for it. Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer. Gah!!! I HATE this song! I'd sooner pull candy canes thru my nostrils & tinsel out of my butt than hear that song one more time. It's like a root canal for the ears!

Now if someone starts a thread for awesome Christmas songs/videos, then I'll be the first to nominate/post Corey Taylor's X-M@s!

My older sister inevitably plays this song every year. I can't for the life of me figure out why.

All I Want For Christmas Is You, don't get me wrong, I like the song, but the romantic subtext is what gets me, as I've never spent a Christmas with anyone relationship wise before, or even had a relationship, sorry to darken the mood..

  13. I don't really hate the song, but the fact that it plays ALL the time on Christmas here gets annoying.

I love holiday music, but I tend to have issues with a ton of the music.

"Last Christmas"? It's an OK song. But try this - replace the word "Christmas" with the word "April". Now, it's not a Christmas song. It's a standard 80s pop song. The only lyrics that even hint at it being a Christmas song is the "wrapped it up and sent it", but even than suggestion evaporates once you switch it to April or August or anything else. In essence, I feel like it's a Christmas song because people are TELLING me it's a Christmas song.

There are plenty of holiday songs that aren't holiday-related - they're simply "winter-themed". "Jingle Bells" is probably the prime example. They never mention Christmas in the lyrics - it's just a song about wintertime activities. And it seems we're pulling more and more old winter-themed songs out of the woodwork to add to the holiday canon. "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" is joined by "Baby It's Cold Outside" and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm". My only complaint about this? That we stop listening to these songs on December 26th. You know, a full five days into winter. Why not listen to those for another three months?

"In the Bleak Midwinter"? Midwinter is early February.

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
    But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?

Um...yes. Because, y'know, he's the most famous reindeer of all. I don't have trouble recalling the most popular things on a list. And in this day of "bully awareness", does ANYBODY think "all the reindeer loved him" once Rudolph got the big gig? Or do you think they kicked his antlered ass and called him a "Santa's boy" once they got back to the North Pole?

Let me leave you with this obscurity from the 60s.

This song includes the line "So hoop-de-doo, and hickery dock, and don't forget to hang up your sock." It's the sort of line that makes me want to punch somebody.

"All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". Uhggghhh.

Oh, and the Michael Jackson version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". When he was little. I like his music, just not ... that.

I have no problems with that one, but I HATE the Jackson 5 version of "Frosty the Snowman."

"Baby It's Cold Outside" creeps me out. The line "Hey, what's in this drink" just screams "date rape" to me.
