So most of us here are big movie buffs, and in keeping with the seasonal merriment and spirit of spreading cheer, this cat wants you to dust off those movies we only bring out this time of year!

It's pretty self explanatory, what's YOUR favorite Christmas flick?

I've got many, but it isn't permissible to call it the holiday season until I've watched Eloise at Christmastime (to appease my inner child), The Family Stone (for my not-so-hidden crybaby/rom-com addict), and Holiday in Handcuffs (it's just a bonus that Mario Lopez takes his shirt off - I already loved the movie).

Now it's your turn, ECers!

    A Christmas Story and Elf.
If you include TV specials, Rudolph and Charlie Brown, too.

It's A Wonderful Life and Christmas Vacation are my favorite Christmas movies, without a doubt. It isn't Christmastime if I don't watch those.

As always it turns out that I'm the weird one. However, without Die Hard 1 and Die Hard 2 there is no christmas action.

It's been a Beertruck family tradition that everyone watches A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. "You'll shoot your eye out! You'll shoot your eye out!"

My favorite holiday film is, by far, the BBC's adaptation of Dylan Thomas's "A Child's Christmas in Wales". You've probably never heard of it. (takes them off) It's about a grandfather telling his grandson about what Christmas was like "when he was a boy", with most of the film being extended flashbacks to those "good old days". It's a near direct adaption of the short story, for most of the grandfather's dialog is lifted right from Dylan Thomas's book. It's a joy to watch--the dialog is witty, with humor that's extremely subtle and subversive; the situations the grandfather describes are quite entertaining; and the writing is just great to listen to. It's highly under-appreciated, and I wish more people knew about it.

My favorite that you've probably heard of is The Muppet Christmas Carol. It's exactly what it sounds like, but it's also a lot better than it sounds. Again, a lot of the dialog is lifted right from the novel, but only the good stuff, not the dry filler Dickens used to pad his stories so he'd get paid more. It's extremely entertaining, as well, as a Muppets film should be. The songs are quite good, too.

My favourites are Home Alone (1 and 2), A Muppet Christmas Carol, It's a Wonderful Life, Gremlins, etc, etc. For television specials, The Snowman and various sitcom Christmas specials are amazing too. The Die Hard films are classic suggestions too, not weird at all.

I used to pop in "Elmo Saves Christmas" for my brother in the middle of the summer. It's good all year round lol.

Invader Zim's "Most Horrible Xmas Ever" episode is pretty epic though
