    Hey all,
This will be the first Christmas I'm spending with my guy and even away from my family. (Usually I go back for Christmas). I was thinking of cooking something special to celebrate the holiday. So what are your favorite holidaay recipes?

There are many different types of recipes for them. I have tried based on my mother's recipes but have failed miserably. It's not the same without her heart and soul.

Well since I was lil, My Parents created a 'Tradition' for us, of have Thanksgiving Dinner(Turkey, mashed potaoes, gravy, corn, stuffing, greenbeans, etc...) on Thanksgiving && for Christmas we would go Mexican!
Tamales, Pozole, Menudo, Frijoles Charros, rice, Chile Colorado && Fajitas.
Since I've been married, I have pretty much kept up with the 'Tradition'. [I guess I mostly do it for my Brothers, bcuz Our Parents have moved on without us...
My Dad has his new Family & my Mom moved to Mexico with her Husband a few years ago.]

I dnt know how to make Tamales since it is kindof a long process, so I buy them from a Tamaleria or a Lady that makes them fresh daily & sells them at our local Walmart in the evening... :icon_bigg

As far as recipes go, what were u looking to make??

I like to make Puerto Rican Eggnog and Empanadas around Christmas time. I also like to wrap water chestnuts in bacon and bake them in the oven. When done I put barbeque sauce on them

Oooo Turkey! My family use to do a turkey every Christmas! We'd have holiday ham too. Lol.

I have never tried Eggnogg but I would imagine it tastes delicious!

hahaha don't forget the champurrado. I love to drink it in cold days. As far as holiday recipes go, we always have a ham for Christmas. We bake it so it has a nice crust on the outside with a pineapple glaze, mmm. We started a new tradition for Thanksgiving. We never had turkey, so we decided to bake one for the first time. So the turkey won't come out dry, we covered it in bacon  We also had chorizo stuffing with chopped carrots, potatoes, stuffing, and spices. We're even considering baking a turkey again for Christmas. Good luck!

    1. Preheat oven.
    2. Open package of premade sugar cookie dough.
    3. Turn off oven and open door to warm up kitchen.
    4. Eat cookie dough.
