I was listening to some guy trying to sell this drink that supposedly has hormonal correction properties. He mentioned that homos didn't exist before science started messing with people's hormones. Im not violent and have never been in a fight, but man if I was next to the guy at the time I might have beaten him to a pulp. He went on saying that his drink can stop people from turning gay. I actually felt blood rushing to my head when I heard. Some dude cut him off and changed the subject after that... I wish there were ways to give these people a day in our minds. This is also one of those time I wish I live in a more developed society. I would sue the radio till it begs for bankruptcy! I hate that I let this shitty ignoramus ruin my morning!
I had a very similar experience while reading the paper one day. This stark raving mad "scientist" had stated in the article that soybeans can make a person gay...soybeans...He was warning parents not to feed their children soybean based food items to help "prevent" children from becoming gay...I was outraged and shocked all at the same time. I support freedom of the press, but I also support the truth in scientific study...

This is because soybeans have oestrogen in them. For this reason, I avoid them because hello, oestrogen? Not good for me. But this 'study' is deeply flawed, because it has been proven a great many times that if you give a gay man testosterone, they get horny for men. This is done under the assumption that gay men are like women and their sexual preferences are influenced by the same hormone as womens'. However, oestrogen will actually make gay men (or any men) less gay, if taken in sufficient amounts, because it has the effect of decreasing sex drive and was given to men in the UK in the 50's and 60's as part of a drug to suppress their homosexuality. Alan Turing, anyone? P.S: Beer also has oestrogen in it. Which is why I don't drink it.
