Default GLBT VS LGBT or however you want to say them

Hi I am new to EC and this question is kinda open to opinion but how do you say/spell them? I know straight people that say it LGBT and most glbt people I know say it GLBT. Is it because lesbians are more socially accepted than other homosexual transsexual bisexual people. What do you think and how do you spell them.

Sorry for any grammatical or spelling errors this is from my iPhone.

If I'm writing it out I say LGBTQQA because it kind of covers everyone.

And I say LGBT because it flows better and its just what I'm used to lol I guess it just depends on the person (:

Iv always said GLBT, but that just becuase Ive heard that the most. But it isn't out of any sort of acceptance or preferance, it's just the order it was said. Whatever flows better for you

LGBT works better for me. I can say it easier. But it doesn't really bother me to be honest.

I think LGBT looks better but GLBT flows better when you say it.

I tend to say LGBT. I'm not sure why, but it just sounds better to me. At any rate, I think it leaves a lot of people out so I usually just use "queer". I know not everyone likes that; some people might feel offended by it, and some might just not identify as queer themselves. However, it's a lot simpler than having some huge acronym.

GBLT - firstly because I personalise it with a stress on "gay/bi", but also because I pronounce it arbitrarily as "Gabbalt"

Quiltbag is amusing, too - how does that acronym break down?

LGBT. I just always have. I've heard it more than anything else, and I personally disagree with the whole 'personalisation' of the acronym, as it lets you say that something else is inferior to you.

Yeah, that is a danger for misinterpretation. I don't think an official order exists though, so it's pretty much a whatever-goes order. Some variations are easy to "pronounce" than others. LGBT sounds like legbite, at the moment, or a sandwhich Always a worry with acronyms!

I personally can't even remember allll the letters cus I hardly say it... idk if I've ever said it out loud. But my mind is more programmed to see "LGBT" since that seems to be what I've been more commonly written. I don't rly think it's because lesbians are more socially accepted or anything though.

Queer is probably better. But then people might get offended

LGBT was the first acronym that I came across, so that's the one I've stuck with. It seems the most widely used, at least in my corner of the world/life. I agree though, it looks better than other acronyms, but I don't have much issue in pronouncing "LGBT" (I say "ell-jee-bee-tee") but I can see other acronyms rolling off the tongue easier. I don't think there's an official acronym to use, so it's whatever comes naturally to you, I guess.

As for why LGBT seems to be the most widely used, whilst not being the easiest to say, I have no idea.

I like LGBT. GBLT or GLBT remind me too much of a Bacon, Tomato, and Lettuce sandwich.

LGBT – I think it looks better written, and it's just what I'm used to from reading Wikipedia as it's the one they use. I like QUILTBAG, but I stick to LGBT as it is more likely to be understood and I think that if you add a letter for every possible orientation, someone will always feel left out somehow but LGBT is understood to encompass everyone. I do sometimes add a Q, but only in writing.

I've always said LGBT but it might be because I am around straight people most often. :S

I think the longest I've seen was LGBTTQQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual). I like QUILTBAG, but generally go with LGBT. In spoken English, I generally use queer.

QUILTBAG. I quite like that.

I personally use LGBT because it was the first acronym I came across. I don't mind either really.
