Default Words that hurt

Ok everyone, I would love all of you to participate in this. I am doing an event for my college's GSA and I need your perspective. What are a few words/names that you get called or have heard that really hurt you? Why and How do they hurt you and, If you want to go more in depth, where did the word come from and what is its real meaning?
I will be taking these words and turning them into note cards that i will pass around with all of these aspects on them. so I will start:
Faggot. This really hurts when i hear others telling a male (or female) that they are a faggot. It has taken such a derogatory turn and it is offensive to all in the LGBTQ community. It is degrading when used this way. Its actual meaning is a bundle of branches.
Ready? GO! :P

I've heard people use faggot a lot. And my GSA friends have called me a dyke before. One gay guy calls my lesbian friend a bull dyke. I don't like any of those terms and it's weird to hear gay people using them toward other gay people. Do these names have to do with LGBT stuff or any names?

any names are welcome although i am gearing this towards LGBTQ stuff. It is weird that a GSA member would call someone a dyke or bull dyke...

Oh ok kool. Yeah, it is weird. It's mainly one guy and he has called people faggot, butch, dyke, bull dyke and pretty much whatever term he can think of.

What kind of event are you doing? It sounds like as long as you give info about what you are doing it will go well.

This is probably the most offensive thing I've ever heard>> 2 straight friends were discussing how the term "fag" means a cigarette/ a bundle of sticks (not sure) in Britain. So they started laughing and said "Let's go get us some fags and burn them!" The double meaning for the word was being used against it. They thought it was funny but I didn't.

we are just passing out new note cards every day with different words on them. and posting posters up with alternative words to "Gay" like lame, boring, etc.

That is offensive too!

"Queer" Can be a description of anybody LGBT if used right, but I usually hear it derogatorily like faggot.

My older brother refers to things that are stupid as gay. It kind of implies that he thinks gay people are stupid which is false considering that there have been many geniuses who are gay. He calls me a fag when is he is annoyed (I'm not out to him).

I got told that since I am a lesbian (which I'm not, I'm bisexual) I had no soul.

I have no idea the things that people come up with sometimes..

I'd say "fag" is the worst one. I've never been personally called that, but I go to "straight bars" with my straight friends a lot and I tend to hear that word among a lot of the patrons (I live in a small, redneck town) when they're making jokes and such.
