Honestly, over the last few days, I thought he was really trying to fill the void Bachmann left. That or work his way through insulting all foreign nations, allies as well as opponents...

I'm sure the 1% that voted for him in NH is absolutely devastated by this.

    Bahaha! *high five*

Now just to get him out of the governorship. His disaster of a campaign kicked him out of favor of even the most hardcore Texas conservatives.

yah... he tried to run as a fiscial families value conservative, and in the end choose to endorse the man who believes family values is always having a whore on the side to groom to be his next wife once he gets board with the 'made-before-god' commitment to his current one.

Perry's endorsing was as illogical and mindboggling as his time as a cannidate.

As a man raised in Texas, let me help say that not all Texas politicains are off track, we had one of the greatest women in Politics as our Govenor, Ann Richards, R.I.P. girlfriend :eusa_clap you gave us hope in the leadership you brought to the table.

And Kathy Witmore, mayor of Houston, who made Nat'l news with her task force on hate crimes against the LBGT community in the late 1980's using straight officers in the poorly lit Montrose area of town as bait to catch the perps.

As to Perry, one of my T-shirts says "If ya see trash, pick it up!!"

Well, if things happen in a country with the size and reach of the U.S. it does tend to affect us too, even if we have no vote in it. Obama is not our president, but he affects your economy, and your economy affects ours. (not limited to purely economy, but it's the most direct example).
It's best to be informed about what's happening, or what could happen.

... and then there's our feeling of snug satisfaction, where we pretend to be so sophisticated that the likes of Bachmann or Perry or Santorum wouldn't even stand a chance in one of our local elections, let alone a national one
(if only that last were true, though :rolle:slight_smile:

I don't think this is a good thing.

Perry was taking votes away from Newt and by doing that helping Mitt Romney who is the most moderate on LGBT rights. This is just helping a candidate further to the right on social issues.

I really hope Santorum stays in the race so that he draws away support from Newt.

Not surprising seeing as his is flagship policy was essentially "I'm a Christian lol".

Because whatever happens in the US affects us. Our idiot government is in bed with yours. And even if it wasn't, we'd still be concerned about US politics for other reasons. SOPA, for instance. Censorship done by one government can apparently affect us all. Theoretically, anything else can.
