What songs are so powerful and speak to you in some way or another that they actually make you shiver? Why do they make you feel this way?

For me, it has to be Youth by Daughter Daughter - Youth (The Wild Youth EP) - YouTube

It makes me feel this way because I had a friend that died, and my best friend of 3 years cutting me off because I declared my feelings for him, both happened very close together and I was very suicidal at the time.

I love the feeling when a song is so good it sends shivers down your spine. Unfortunately, most of the time when a song does that, it's because it's an emotionally charged song that I haven't listened to in a long time. A song's ability to send shivers down my spine is severely hindered if it's on the forefront of my memory, so it's hard to think of songs that do that. There is one I can think of, though, because it did that to me just recently.

The final part of this song makes me shiver (build-up starts at 19:47, the part itself starts at 20:04, but even the build-up sends shivers down my spine). It's a long song, but it tells an emotionally charged story, and the lyrics and instrumentation during the climax sends shivers down my spine. Even listening to it right now, skipping the whole thing and going right to the end, it sent shivers down my whole body.

One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey.

It's a song about how we will always remember people whom we love even though we've lost them: "I know you're shining down from heaven, like so many friends we've lost along the way, and I know eventually we be together. One sweet day..."

Not quite emotional reasons or anything, but this gets me every time. The drop right after the "Listen!". I'm not exactly a fan of dubstep either. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Nice. I prefer the original soundtrack, but that is the best game ever.

Love The Way You Lie, by Eminem and Rhianna. It's a sad, disturbing song, but it's beautifully done.

  20. Defying Gravity

To me, this song is the pinnacle of all epicness :icon_bigg and it just speaks to me in so many different ways

When she starts belting out 'So if you care to find me, look to the western sky' in the last verse, it really sends shivers down my spine :rolle:
