I'm kinda confused on something and am wondering if anyone else knows. were the Romanovs good or bad?
Have you read their Wiki article? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Romanov Might give you some more insight to them.
Without reading any sources, I think whether you think they were good or bad depends on whether you support the notion of aristocracy or not... and even then you could probably still say either "they were good monarchs" or "they were bad monarchs."
Isn't the movie "Anastasia" loosely based-off of the Romanovs? If it's not, I'm just going insane. And I agree. Russians are hot. :]
Well, yeah it is, but it is so far from the truth that it is actually nothing but fiction. Is it any good?
Yes it is, it's based on the legend that when the Bolsheviks executed the Romanovs, Anastasia may have survived due to the fact that she and she other women in the family sewed the family jewels into their corsets to prevent them from being stolen. Some have theorized that because Anastasia's body was supposedly missing from the other Romanov bodies that the jewels acted as a primitive bullet proof vest and she faked dead only to escape later. Naturally this is too dark for a cartoon kids movie so they just made it so she escaped the siege altogether with her grandmother.
