Ever thought or heard of a quote that just made you feel all tingly inside? Well heres a place to put them all! If they're know to all, or you just came up with it, post it here and make someone's day!
"I believe in morality, which is doing right regardless of what I am told ... not in religion, which is doing what I am told regardless of what is right." -One of my friends How can you "just be yourself" When you don't know who you are? Stop saying "I know how you feel" How could anyone know how another feels? Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, Whore, politician, wrongdoer? I am, you are, all of them already -Song of Myself
"How lucky I am to live in a world with sun-dappled anything." -Charlotte "Chuck" Charles (Pushing Daisies) "What makes me unique has brought every single person I love into my life. Make it be the same for you." -The Piemaker (Pushing Daisies) "You’ve got to think about all the things you like and decide whether they’re worth sticking around for. And if they are, you’ll find a way to do this." -Rube Sofer (Dead Like Me) "Did you know that in 900 years of time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important before?" -The Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who)
"There's never enough time to do it right, but there's always enough time to do it over." - Bergman, Jack
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. - William Ernest Henley
"You have to do What you have to do To get to do What you want to do" I don't know who said it, but it pretty much applies to almost every aspect of my life.
"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." - Martin Luther King Jr. "The more you know who you are and what you want, the less you let things upset you" - Lost in Translation ---------- Post added 22nd Feb 2012 at 06:19 PM ---------- "it's not about what happened in the past or what you think might happen in the future. its about the ride for Christ's sake. there's no point going through all this crap if your not going to enjoy the ride. and you know what, when you least expect it something great might come along something better than you even planned for." - Along Came Polly "But lately I've been seeing it differently. Now I think moral fiber's about finding that one thing you really care about. That one special thing that means more to you than anything else in the world. And when you find her, you fight for her. You risk it all, you put her in front of everything, your life, all of it. And maybe the stuff you do to help her isn't so clean. You know what? It doesn't matter. Because in your heart you know, that the juice is worth the squeeze" -The Girl Next Door
In my (student) house we have a giant whiteboard, and I reserved a corner of it, and stick up a new quote every morning. It's a good way to get myself and anyone else who sees it thinking in the morning (usually they're happy quotes). Quite literally, I use my StumbleUpon predominantly for finding awesome quotes. The quotes that really get at me and make me think are those ones that I deem to be really 'true'; you know, those ones that make you have a different outlook on the world for the moment. So, here's a few (of the many) that I quite enjoy: And finally:
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. -Mary Elizabeth Frye
"It is the conduct of any man to struggle and fall; it is the conduct of great men to rise and soar." -Robert Marshall

Never take advice from someone who is more screwed up than you are. -- John Addison You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go. -- Dr. Seuss Strangers are just friends waiting to happen. Once you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
I'm going to put a long series of quotes that I've found personally enlightening, so beware! "An individual encased in delicate flesh and bone, unable to do more than guess at one another's motives or feelings, was an ultimately inferior and weak creature. [H]e saw nothing promising in [humanity's] future until [it] had evolved past the need to communicate with one another so clumsily." ~Unworthy by Kirsten Beyer "I believe you are punishing me because I don't think the way that you do, [and] because I am not becoming more like you. You claim to respect my individuality, but in fact, you are frightened by it." ~Seven of Nine, Star Trek: Voyager "Prey" "I wrestle alone, in the dark--in the deep dark--and only I can know. Only I can understand my condition." ~Viriginia Woolf, The Hours "[T]hey had heaps of theories, always theories, as young people have. It was to explain the feeling they had of dissatisfaction; not knowing people; not being known. For how could they know each other? You met every day; then not for six months, or years. It was unsatisfactory, they agreed, how little one knew people. [...] So that to know her, or any one, one must seek out the people who completed them." ~Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway "My goal is not to wake up at 40 with the bitter realization that I've wasted my life in a job I hate because I was forced to decide on a career in my teens." ~Daria Morgendorffer, Daria "[Those] who fight with monsters should be careful lest [they] thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee." ~Nietzsche, "Beyond Good & Evil" "We weep for the bird's cry but not for the fish's blood. Blessèd are those with a voice." ~Ghost in the Shell: Innocence "It's not cowardly to wish to live. It's the very reverse of cowardly. Personally, I'd like to go on for a hundred years [...]. Think of all the things that are bound to happen!" ~Virginia Woolf, The Voyage Out "I want to be left alone. I don't want to be alone." ~Audrey Hepburn
"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no-one alive who is Youer than You." - Dr Seuss "Anyone can make a mistake - That's why pencils have erasers" - Anonymous "Don't let the past steal your present." - Cherralea Morgen
