We all have a favourite accent(s), what's yours?

Mine would be a tough choice between:

    - African [sub saharan] (English sounds so happy in an African accent).
    - German. I honestly love when they speak English. I also love the German language itself.
    - Irish (who doesn't love the Irish accent?)

Also, in my opinion, the sexiest accent is the Slavic one.

I'm a fan of Irish accents myself, but I once had a professor with a thick Russian accent that made me sweet on that accent. The way the words "curly bracket" would roll off his tongue was sheer bliss to my ears.

Most attractive accents? Australian, or British definitely.

Most entertaining accent? Anything Caribbean. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I like southern American accents, but that's more of a dialect than accent. Also French and NZ accents are cool too.

I'm not sure about which accent is sexiest, but for sheer coolness nothing beats an English accent. If you can choose what prof you have, choose one with an English accent, everything they say sounds really cool.

To me, English accents are the best (Irish accents run a close second). I love that half of my family is English so whenever I talk to them I get to hear their wonderful accents. I wish my dad still had his (he was born there) but alas, it's disappeared for the most part. However, when we go to England, it comes back very quickly! And I start doing this weird hybrid thing, where some of my words come out with my normal accent and others sound English. If anybody's ever seen Love and Other Disasters, think Brittany Murphy's character and you'll know what I mean.

There's something soooo hot about an Aussie smiling and talking ... yummy!!

That being said, Tristan, on Dancing with the Stars, is too hot ... that Scottish accent, great smile ... and just a hint of chest hair peeking out ... **fanning self**

Definitely Irish and Russian accents. I also melt whenever I hear a guy with a North Carolinan accent...though at the same time I find women's accent's from that area to be incredibly annoying, for some reason, lol.

I guess people mean Queen's English / BBC English when they say "British accents", but there are many more, like above. To me, that girl's accent is just as different from an American's as someone from Oxford.

It's all good though, I wouldn't be able to tell a "North Carolinian" accent. I can divide North American accents into little more than New England, California, Chicago, Southern, African-American and rural Canadian, when I know there're far more. Idk, in other parts of the world can you guess a town someone would come from and be correct within 20 or so miles? I can with local people.

And my favourite accents are currently Aussie accents.

I've also realised how lovely Swedish people speaking English is, it's so sing-songey! My least favourite could be the Northern Irish accent or Yam-Yam, sorry for anyone who comes from there. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Aussie accents. Sigh...

Also, I have a soft spot for certain kinds of Southern American accents.
