Average Penis Size?

    I've always been fascinated by what has come to be known as 'average' penis size. In my old biology text book back in high school, the average erection for an adult male is 12-15CM which is approximately 5 inches.

    This is a number that I have heard repeated by many educators in health/sex documentaries, and on other sex websites. And though the stereotype that Asian men have the smallest endowments, I have found that several websites actually state that Arabic men are the smallest on average. Many websites that I have repeated state this size as reputable and well documented.

    I know that within my circle of friends (the females and males) swear that the average for them is 6 inches. Most females seem to be fine with that number, and when their partner is 6-7 inches they are happy. My straight male friends think that 6 is kind of small, and boast having larger. And my gay male friends think that 6 is small/average, and usually have preferences for 7-8 (and larger)

    Out of the men I've slept with, the majority of them have been over 6 (most of them 7-8), and in my personal circles of gay/straight/bi guys that have (for whatever reason) revealed to me their penis size, its always been large. And these are not 'Internet Inches' or exaggerated, unsubstantiated boasts, I've seen the measurements/photos myself. These guys are all massive.

    Friend A: 33 years Old: White: Gay 7.5 Uncut
    Friend B: 25 years Old: White: Straight 8 Uncut
    Friend C: 24 years Old: White: Straight 9 Uncut
    Friend D: 23 years Old: White: Straight 7 Cut
    Friend E: 34 years Old: White: Gay 8 Cut
    Friend F: 26 years Old: Black: Gay 6 Cut
    Friend G: 30 years Old: White: Gay 8 Cut
    Friend H: 44 years Old: White: Bi 6.5 Cut
    Friend I: 42 years Old: White: Gay 7 Uncut
    Friend J: 25 years Old: White Gay 8 Uncut

    My experience in no way reflects this well researched text book average. Circumcision can make a penis appear a little smaller as well, but even the cut guys have no shortage in size.

    5-6 inches is what I've been able to find... maybe the guys you've slept with just happen to be larger than normal. Maybe gay guys also have a tendency to try penis enlargement? Idk

    I have seen some medical anecdotes floating around saying that gay men on average have slightly larger penises than straight men. Whether there is some actual link or it is just enthusiastic reporting by participants, I don't know :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.
    Also you can quite easily add an inch or two onto your 'actual' size if you measure on the underside rather than the top side.

    I've always read 6 inches as being the average. I've also read, however, that gay men on average have larger penises than straight men.
    Personally, the size of my partners junk doesn't matter... I'm sure I'm one of few :rolle:

    Oddly my bfd have been in the avg 5-6 range while the guys I've slept with have been bigger. Go figure...but yeah I think it still is the avg. I mean for me I'm not, being 9 inches, but I still think that 5-6 is the avg

    Keep in mind also that men with smaller endowments are less likely to boast about them, and less likely to whip them out to measure. Same with porn... the guys who are lining up to do porn are likely to have larger-than-average penises, so that skews people's perceptions.

    It would be a little like looking at basketball players to make a determination about average height. :slight_smile:

    I agree with Skintight, the size doesn't matter. But to put what I've heard, everyone says 6-7 inches is norm.

    I too have seen that quote, but I've never see the research to back it up. Maybe gay men are more inclined to share their large endowments with the world, and therefore larger men have participated in the survey.

    That is not an accurate measuring method. You are simply pushing your tape/ruler further into the body. The measurements I'm quoting are from base to tip, with the measuring instrument laid on top.

    And yet 6-7 inches is still significantly larger than the text book 5 inches.

    Sorry, what I meant was that the correct way is to measure on the top as you said, and if you measure on the bottom you can add an extra one or two imaginary inches.
    I thought there could be a link considering the numbers you posted seem to be pretty consistently one-or-two inches above average, but you say they measured properly.

    Well there is another forum that has them posted lol but I'm not going to be posting it here lol (forum nor pics) and I know I sounded boasting. Trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I have difficulties sometimes becoming erect because of the length and girth...so trust me, being smaller is actually better in cases.

    I think 5" - 6" is probably about right. I have limited experience in the bedroom so my sample size is fairly small. It's kind of difficult to tell from guys at the gym because people don't generally walk around the locker room with raging hardons.

    On a somewhat related note I remembered this clip from some radio show where people call in and ask different questions about love, sex and relatioships and whatnot.

    I have a slightly differant take on this one ,when i am erect im about four inches not so good,But my problem has always been the size when not erect i am so small that when i was at school and had to shower after gym i was so bullied and laughed at that it affected me for a lot of years,I was quite feminine looking and had a bad time being called horrible names, most of my life i have found it difficult to undress in front of doctors and even though i loved to swim i was always careful when changing in front of anyone. I had some major problems when i became sexually active and i had to be circumcised when i was twenty one,this helped a little by giving me a bit more lenth,But the mental scars have never really healed ,anyone else had anything like this?
