If you had to lose one of the five senses, hearing, sight, taste, smell, and touch which one would you choose?

I would hate to lose my hearing. I need my sight for my job. I enjoy smelling way too much to lose it. Also, touch is perhaps my main route for sexual desire. It's how I express my feelings and how I know they're being returned in a sexual situation. It would be horrible to lose that.

I love eating and tasting, but when I really weight things out, taste is the weakest link for me. I don't really need it.

I'd lose taste, because what we actually "taste" is 80% smell. Our actual taste organs only detect sour, salt, things like that. At least that's what I heard. So I guess without taste I could still enjoy my meals for 80%

I don't really like spicy food, well seasoned food and so on. Actually, I like my food to be sort of tasteless and let just the nose experience the variety of "tastes", as justinf says, that food offers. Other senses are far more important.

Taste. Then presumably I wouldn't be tempted to eat so many yummy things and my weight wouldn't be an issue!

    Taste, it's honestly useless.
I was going to say sight (because I've figured that over a year of needing glasses and not getting them with 20/2400 vision I was used to not using my vision much), but really taste is the most useless sense there is. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Taste is a brilliant thing. You all underestimate it.

I agree! I don't know how I could live without being about to taste food.

Taste, but I'd give up sight before I gave up smell and touch.

Same here a bit, but it's honestly really useless, where as the other four senses are a bit useful (besides maybe smell). Also, disgusting foods wouldn't technically be disgusting...

Sight! Im the only voter for it so far! My eyes are fairly messed up anyhow, so what difference does a bit more make?

    Smell.

At first I was like "Taste. That way I wouldn't have bad food temptations" but then I thought of sex... and how that sense is important, teehee. So I chose Smell.

I picked smell. It was either that or taste but I think if I had to lose one that smell would be the one I would need the least.

Smell. Looks like Smell is a popular choice. Smell is also the only sense that has ever compelled me to vomit.

Smell, easily, although I would miss it. Sight would by far be the worst loss for me.
