Starting a GSA at school?

I've kind of been thinking about talking to the guidance counselor at school about starting a GSA at school. I live in a pretty small, conservative, annoying Village and I'm not too sure how it would go over considering that there are really only three teachers that I could ask about being the adviser for the club. The guidance counselor at school has already said to me that shes pretty open minded about stuff so I don't really have a problem with asking her about starting the club. I've never really gone about starting a club before because I'm generally the really quiet person that never says anything. Has anyone else on here started a GSA at their school?
