I've used "no hetero" as a qualifier before. Sad thing is, it started to catch on in my circle of friends after I started using it.
Oh wow that is hilarious. I remember when I first heard that phrase I was like "What did you just say?!" I just couldn't believe that I someone had actually used a blatantly homophobic colloquialism in casual conversation. It's like the childish use of the phrase "that's so gay!" to mean something stupid or uncool. Way to wear your homophobia on your sleeve.
I should start using that! There have been so many times when I agreed with my straight female friends that a guy was cute (though I was never attracted to him) and they said, "But I thought you were gay?"
Honestly, I find "No homo" funny. The fact that people seem to see the need to say it is, in itself, just amusing to me. But I'm probably in the minority.
No, I find it funny as well, as it just shows how comfortable (not) they are with their own sexuality
You are not alone plus I rarely find it being used in a homophobic way tobequitehonestwithyou but I guess those are just the people I live around
Whenever anyone says "no homo," I assume they must be. Or questioning, or something. Because someone secure in their straightness would not need to say that.
I guess it's just part of the "bro code." Slapping the "no homo" suffix on the end instantly and magically removes all traces of homosexuality from it. "I got fucked in the ass last night...no homo."
hahaha I <3 this. I find that im not so much offended by the no homo comment but it is a good marker for whos a total douche, its like "you mad bro?" I have not met someone who is actually worth spending my time and energy on who uses these comments. It really saves time getting to know people when they use certain comments early on.
I always found the phrase to be fairly juvenile. I mean, really, "no homo" is so gay. And for the record, I love all you gays, too! (some homo).
