    I read somewhere that being left-handed plays a (pretty) small role in sexual orientation (like 2-3% more likely for you to be gay). So I was wondering what's your dominant hand?

    ME!!!

    I am lefty for swimming or i drown.
    I am righty for writing.
    But really I can write with either, and bowl with either, batting I swing either way.

    I am very recessive. I wonder if my sexuality is rare too. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    I am also ambidextrous.

    I write with my right hand, because it's easier to pull the pen across the page than to push it (and for other reasons--ask any lefty why is sucks to be left handed and writing, and that's why I write with my right hand).

    (I do mirror writing with my left hand sometimes, though.)

    Similar for other things that are designed for right-handers--scissors, can openers, etc.

    Otherwise, I switch off without thinking about it. Every once in a while, someone notices, and looks at me like :eek:. I'm always kind of puzzled by it, because I don't think it's a big deal, really. In my case, it mostly just means that I'm equally clumsy on both sides of my body.

    keep this thread!

    and i guarantee when doing scissors if you are lefty and do righty you sink, breathe water, spit air, and move wrong arm and leg. it matters, my teacher figured it out, i can swim fine doing it lefty. go figure.

    I guess Im kinda Ambidextrous? It depends what im doing. If im writing, I would use my left hand (I used to write with both hands when I was little). But when im doing something like badminton, I would use my right hand.

    Lefty for 90% of the time!

    I only use my right hand to swing a bat, golf club, and play hockey. I've been told I kick as a righty, but I don't normally kick things...lol

    Lefty here.

    ... and there are at least 3 or 4 other surveys in our archive. I think one of the larger ones had lefties at about 28%, which is almost 3 times what it is in the normal population. Of course we have all sorts of sampling bias issues and such but anecdotally I can tell you that there are MANY more lefties among my gay friends than my straight ones.

    In fact, I was once randomly in a car with 4 of my gay friends and we discovered we were all left handed. That's not statistically likely :slight_smile:

    I was a left at first, until I got into second grade that is. There was this teacher, who had the believe left handed people were the spawn of satan, so she forced us abusively to write with the right hand. So since then I've lost the ability to write with my left hand, but I do draw and paint with the left hand. Basically I do everything with my left hand accept writing.

    I'm left handed but I can write pretty good with my right hand too, also my hand eye co ordination is better with my right hand, buuut I'm a lefty still haha

    Me too! And I think having to write (and draw too) with my right hand reduces precision a lot. My handwriting is inconsistent, especially after a few minutes, and my drawings are worse than they could be (I think).
    Anyway, I guess I'll be looking for a lefty then, since the chances are that high. :slight_smile:
