    Okay on this site I have noticed the words genderqueer and genderfluid. First of all what do they even mean because until this point I had never heard them before. Is there a difference between the two?

    Genderqueer (GQ; alternatively non-binary) is a catch-all term for gender identities other than man and woman, thus outside of the gender binary and heteronormativity.[1] People who identify as genderqueer may think of themselves as one or more of the following:

    both man and woman (bigender, pangender);
    neither man nor woman (genderless, agender);
    moving between genders (genderfluid);
    third gender or other-gendered; includes those who do not place a name to their gender;
    having an overlap of, or blurred lines between, gender identity and sexual orientation.

    Good question. I've been wondering the same thing.

    Same. Have come across many new terms since joining here! Maybe a sticky 'Glossary' is in order? :slight_smile:

    As rabbit1 already posted, I always assumed, and kind of still do associate, Genderqueer = agendered. Genderfluid essentially means shifting between the two genders into what the genderfluid person feels they are at the current time.

    I consider genderqueer to be a blanket term.

    The same way that somebody can be bi- or pan-sexual, on a spectrum between straight and gay, there's a spectrum between male and female. That's what most of these terms address.
