I usually listen to music, but I find that, nowadays, this techniques doesn't seem to work.

I sleep. Every bad feeling I've ever experienced was cured by sleep.

I agree, sleep can get rid of any negative feelings. The problem is, it can take awhile to fall asleep if you are not tired. One thing that usually helps me when I've had a bad day is to talk with people about it. It really helps me, especially when facing anxiety about my sexuality.

I guess for me it really depends on the weather.

If it is nice outside I will go on a nice long walk. I've found that taking long walks helps me think about things and recover from days that did not go the way that I wanted to.

If it is bad outside I will mess around on my computer. I will listen to music or watch funny videos. Sometimes if I see some of my friends online I will talk to them too.

Having a bad day myself, but I think music helps me sometimes. Or I just ride on the bike or go for a jog. Works sometimes

I sometimes listen to loud, angry music. If that doesn't help then i try to talk to people, if even that doesn't help then i would go on a long, solitary walk- alone time usually helps in calming me down.

I play video games.... older ones. Earthbound has been a great stress reliever lately... made it to "The Big Banana" the other day (!)

Oh, or I cook. Baking cookies or other things. With the weather, I've been grilling almost every dinner, though.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, grilled asparagus with mahi-mahi tacos tonight, yummy

You haven't lived until you've tried my baked and grilled brussels sprouts :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I like to go for a drive.

Helps me clear my head and forget about whatever was bothering me.

I just let all of the emotions that I've repressed hit me all at once and I cry (when I'm alone, of course). Crying helps get some of the tension out. Oh, and drinking my parents' wine helps, too .

This. Or just exploring in general. My bad days "coincidently" combine with the days that I have the most work to do, so I'll purposefully go to some out of the way coffee shop or study spot to do my work, either meandering through all the cool neighborhoods, taking an odd bus route, or taking a "small" three hour break by jogging through the park and hanging out by the lake.

If I'm on the verge of tears, I've been finding it's best to let out my emotions by crying and hitting a sturdy wall, table, or other inanimate object (not to the point of causing damage to these objects or injuring myself, but just letting anger out). Usually listening to music, especially songs that fit what I'm feeling at the moment helps bring out these emotions. Working out or at least doing "air punches" while listening to angry music can also alleviate stress.

Otherwise, driving around or going for a walk around the neighborhood or on a trail helps to calm me down. Or sitting on a park bench. Being out in nature in general makes me feel a lot better.

To echo what others said, masturbating to porn or cooking also helps. Or having a beer or other alcoholic beverage while watching a favorite TV show or movie on DVD. Hell, if you're stuck being alone and feeling lonely, you might as well treat yourself and make the most of it. (!)

I become very chatty to friends, being in need of company. And I might have more than 2 beers to get my brain slowed down. It seems to work whenever I do have a bad day.

The first generally makes me more worked up when I suck at them haha but the second definitely works.

Going to the gym and working out for me is the best way to blow off steam.

Exercise helps my mood a lot. But another thing that works for me is getting sun. Tanning, or just being outside, walking, reading, doing whatever you feel like, it makes a big difference. I think it has to do with the vitamin D you absorb.

So I will go work out, run, tan, listen to music, lay by the pool, or even just doing my own little "spa day" all feel pretty great afterward. Like today, got off work, got a little sun, doing some nice face masks, and now I feel pretty great (look better too)!

Of course, don't over-do any of these things! Everything in moderation.
