Quick question: how do you deal with ivy plants growing up buildings? There's one growing up the side of the house and now it's onto the screen of my window. Thanks!

I had a similar problem a number of years back. We cut the "trunk" as close to the ground as possible and left the stuff up the wall to "dry" for a couple of weeks, then it was easy to pull off the wall and from around the windows.

You can let it sprout and grow again until it annoys you but we bought a special poison from the garden cenre. You cut into the trunk remaining in the ground and apply the poison - it kills the roots and they eventually just rot away.

    Hope that's of some use.

Sweet, thanks! I'll give it a shot. It'll be time for me to do some weeding and stuff later this afternoon anyways.
