I liked to read then, and it kinda gave me a nice opportunity to read. I kinda thought it was a little like a mini-mall or something too fun to explore ![]()

It's always cool seeing how all the signs are in different languages too.Airports are the gateways to different cultures, different countries, different ways of living.

I have a love/hate relationship with them. Security's kind of annoying, and I'm always worried I'm going to miss my flight, which happened to me once. But travel's pretty exciting for me. |

My least favourite is Heathrow in London - dirty and smelly with 30-year-old carpets everywhere. Ugh! |

| Little Edie #2 Full Member | I fly within the UK pretty often. I've gotten to know my regular airports pretty well, so I know how to get to the best available seats in the airport : P there's usually a couple of really comfy chairs that nobody knows about. I usually just lie back, play games on my computer and wait for my flight, which is usually less than an hour long. Heaven! |

So I truly dislike airports because they take me forever to just get into the freaking airplane!!

I left from Pearson in Toronto, stopped at LAX and in Sydney then continued on to Melbourne. The only airport I had a bad experience in was LAX, the staff was rude and the set up of the airport I think is rather silly because you have to go to opposite ends of the airport to connect to the domestic flight area from international arrivals which requires you go through security and all that business. I think the worst part of the airport are the airlines! I may have never flown before but I definitely know United Airlines is no good! |

| EC Addict Full Member ![]() Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Out Status: Three friends and a few of their friends know... Location: East Midlands Posts: 365 Join Date: Aug 2011 | I've never been a huge fan of airports, all that queuing then sitting around doing not very much. That being said most of my flights have been from Manchester International Airport, usually on one of the first departures of the day, and the view out the windows has always been that of rain, rain, and more rain - oh and far far too many people in ill fitting tracksuits. Unlike the rest of you I can't remember ever seeing any eye-candy at the airports! That being said I do like East Midlands Airport, dispite being an international airport it's mainly for cargo (it's the second largest cargo airport in the UK, but outside the top 10 for passengers) and the passenger terminal is quite small which means you get through it all quite quickly - being so small means you also get a clear view of the whole airport from the waiting areas meaning you can watch the countless DHL, BMI Baby and Ryanair planes take off and land without even getting up! Coming back into the UK is even better - got off the plane and by the time we had walked to the terminal (no jetways, just airstairs) our bags were already on the carousel, followed by just getting waved through domestic arrivals dispite the two flights arriving at the time being from the Republic of Ireland and ours from the Czech Republic! |

I usually get their early so to avoid the line up at the check-in counter or baggage drop-off and the security check. From all the airports I have been to/traveled through, the top two airports that I like are Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport. Toronto because of its bookstores, and Vancouver because of its comfortable seating areas and its ambiance. It's actually a nice airport to walk through.

My personal favorite is the Hong Kong airport. Its pretty big but can get you where you need to go very quickly if you know your way around. Its also very beautiful.
