ok i dont mean to be weirder than usual, but its been in my head for a while. yaoi is popular with girls, while yuri is popular with guys. buthow often to u hear any guys enjoying yaoi and girls enjoying yuri? if u dont know what either of these mean then here i shall simplify it.

YAOI = Boy X Boy or boy love (gay guys)

YURI = Girl X Girl or girl love (lesbians)

now that that is out of the way, seriously. ive never heard of a guy reading yaoi, do they really not read it or do they just dont want people to know? im so curious, im not tryiong to sound rude or anything.

Just gonna go ahead and say it plain and simple.

I know plenty of guys who loves yaoi. And plenty of girls who love yuri.
I suppose you just hear the stereotypical lovers of each presenting themselves. But yeah.

anyways, I thought they were writing all of those pieces specifically for me, so aren't they ALL targeted at 24 year old lesbians?

all joking aside, I enjoy yuri and yaoi and hetro fictions when they are well done, and when they're not well done being one over the other does nothing to redeem the piece. though, tbh, all things being equal I do enjoy yuri moreso than the others

I happen to love yaoi. I'd like yuri, too, if I read one.

Now, I'm sure there are heteroguys that read yaoi, and heterogirls into yuri. But they might not be open about it, 'cause it'd make them look gay (or so they may feel). But a straight guy probably wouldn't read yaoi for the sexual nature, but might read it for the romance.

I think there is definitely something to be said about the mind wanting something it can't have. As a female, I can not have a malexmale relationship, thus it entices me. I'm not saying it's the same for others, but that's my reasoning. I love both yuri and yaoi, but I'm definitely more prone to reading the latter as it's not something that I can ever actually experience.

I was HUGE into yuri/shoujo-ai when I liked manga. It was so cute and lovely, and it was more romance than sex (as with yoai)... Kashimashi is by far my favourite. I'm not into manga anymore but when I was, yeah yuri was my passion.

I like both but I happen to also love bara that is actually like yaoi but more targeted to a male audience since is like a much masculine version of yaoi tbh. Bara for example is drawn by men.

Still, I love all of those genders. I also happen to read regular hentai.

I've browsed and tried a bit of Yaoi but I didn't like the lengthily romantic flirting scenes that seemed very aimed at women. Also, wayyyy too much crying and drama. But maybe I haven't been lucky.

I am not going to read an entire comic based on two guys who were drawn as though they were born from a CLAMP comic

I would read something that was lighthearted or not involving stick-thin guys though.

yaoi depending on how it's drawn and what is happening

personally I'm fine with eroticism but not overdone

I prefer the more romantic -> erotic/sexual rather than sexual/romantic xD

I might be dumb but I seem be having trouble (or maybe too picky) finding something that suits this picky mind.
