Actually Disney is very gay friendly. They even hold gay days at their parks for GLBT people/couples.

    Are they anti-gay? No.

Will there be a gay themed movie in the near future? Probably not.

I would say Disney is very gay friendly, they have gay days even though it's not an official event. I believe they also opened up their fairy tale weddings to gay couples.

The company is gay friendly, yes. They just "play it safe" because they pretty much serve the entire world's children. Homosexuality is still a fine line to cross when it comes to that.

But they aren't against anything. Disney owns other networks like ABC and whatnot as well as other companies, who's TV shows always have gay characters. Hell, Disney channel gets away with gay references in their shows and movies sometimes.

And of course, if they were anti-gay, this wouldn't have been allowed:

ANight- thank you so much for posting the Pixar 'It Get's Better' vid. That is definitely one of the most incredible and inspirational I have seen yet. The bald guy talking about going home to his husband in the evening made me tear up!

If you go to youtube, it looks like there's actually a disney one too...

    I'd say Disney's pretty gay-friendly.

Disney is gay friendly. They allow gay couples to get married in their parks!

Quite a few of its employees are gay too.

Regarding marriage ceremonies on Disney grounds:

And this is about benefits. This is from 1995 so I'm not sure what benefits are now. Gay couples that live together receive some benefits I think.

    http://www.nytimes.com/1995/10/08/us/disney-co-will-offer-benefits-to-gay-partners.html

Disney participates in Orlando Pride Parade! I'm unsure about Disneyland. I don't know if they go every year but I walked with Disney a few years ago. We all wore Disney brand shirts and threw pens or something. Then, we made towel animals and balloons for kids. There were some gay Disney employees for sure there.

There is a group for LGBT Disney employees called P.R.I.D.E. aka "People Respecting Individual Diversities in Everyone." Unfortunately I can't find much info on it. I wish I could.

WDW is listed as one of the Out & Equal Leaders. They are one of a list of companies that are good for LGBT employees.

Employee Resource Groups | Out & Equal Workplace Advocates

Disney has a policy where they cannot discriminate against someone for being gay. Sexual orientation is covered as you can see in the link below. I don't see gender identity but I'm not sure what their policy is on that.

Business and Ethics Standards | The Walt Disney Company

Anyway long story short they are known as being an LGBT friendly company.

However it'll probably be quite a while before LGBT stories are told on screen.

Yes they are, they do have gay days as well as people have mentioned, but, most likely, there will never be any Disney movie that actively accepts it, they most likely want to play it safe.

They've always treated me and my partner well in the parks and on the cruise ships.
