First orgasm was definitely through masturbation. I was 5 and thought I had broken myself! :lol:

Yeah, masturbation. I know a lot of girls who won't admit to it, and plenty of others who trade tips about what vibrators are best.

 

I am utterly confused by how much of a taboo masturbation is. It's worse than anything else, it seems.

 

It is strange how much of a taboo it is for some women especially. I feel like even though some guys are ashamed of it, it is so heavily represented in pop culture that it's still generally seen as acceptable. With women, I don't know what the deal is. The thing I hear most often is that they feel it is somehow inferior to sex with a partner and something you only do if you don't have one or are not satisfied with the partner.

 

I don't think that's seen as just a female thing, I think it's a common opinion about masturbation in general. As for why it's so taboo for females, I think it's because according to society, women aren't supposed to enjoy sex (and if they do, they're deemed "sluts"); it's something they do to reproduce or please their male partners, which is obviously not true, as well as heterosexist.

I'm pretty sure hundreds, if not thousands of my first orgasms were through masturbation (ok, although mutual on a few occasions). Take that, taboo.

Neither of my sisters know how to do it, though, and both think it's weird and taboo. They're straight/cisgendered, I wonder if that has any impact.
