    Hey! I have only been using this site for a month or so and I've noticed that there is a distinctly lower number of gay/lesbian/bi people in the UK than in the USA. I know this is probably because of the drastically different populations but it made me curious as to how many people on here are actually from the UK. I know that around where I live the lesbian community is lacking or I am just not seeing it (which is probable). Any one else have this problem or is it actually just me?

    There are many people from the UK, but of course there are way more Americans since the USA is much bigger than the UK :slight_smile: Just click on the GCSE's Results thread and you'll see all the British people on EC :grin:

    Btw., I think there are those "4%" in every country, maybe you just don't see them around you (nor do I) :grin: :frowning2:

    I think there're plenty of English (and rest of UK) LGBT people. EC isn't really a very good sample, as I don't think being gay is as much of an issue here as it is in the USA, so there isn't so much need for support sites like this over here.

    There doesn't seem to be too many LGBT people in my hometown either, but since I've never lived anywhere else, I don't know what it's like elsewhere. Since I seriously doubt your town dictates your sexuality, I doubt there's a significant difference across the world. The main reason why demographic figures would differ would be because they only consider people who're out of the closet, and possibly migration too.

    I may be American, yet somehow I would think that the Scots and Welsh and Northern Irish and maybe even the Cornish might not like English being used as the demonym for the whole UK...

    Yeah that is true, I was originally going to just see who is actually English but I ended up writing 'UK' instead of 'England'. I don't mean to offend anyone.
