Ever been called Asexual?

    The other night a bunch of my friends and I were hanging out at a friends house, and somehow the topic was changed to dating.

    My friend had gone through the list of people there describing their dating 'styles,' went something like this...

    Him: Jordan can't grow a pair to ask out the girls, Leah is pretending to be all sweet and innocent, but really she's juggling two guys. Kaitlyn just likes to be miserable. And Chaz, well.... Chaz is just asexual
    Me: *under my breath* if only you knew.

    I thought it was pretty funny, but my question for everyone else is
    Have you ever been called asexual by somebody? Closeted or not

    I've never been called asexual but back in high school a gay kid (actually the only one that I knew of in the school) in my biology class called himself asexual. It was hilarious -_- Seeing as someone I know who is gay said something like this... perhaps your friends are hinting at you :wink:

    I've thought about whether or not they know, and I think they do. On a subconscious level at least, but not really thought about. When I came out to the only person I have(who is in the same group of friends), her reaction was !!!! no way, you can't be... stop joking. Seriously though... you're joking... i'm going to wake up and get a text from you saing JK!!!.... then 5 minutes later she was like.. ok... ya I can see it now.. I guess I kinda knew... like there was something different about you, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

    That's what I'm more or less expecting from everyone.

    EDIT: I doubt anybody knows they know, you know? :slight_smile:

    Yeah, a few of my friends think I'm asexual. They say its because they never see me flirt with anyone or have never known me to date or show even the slightest interest in anyone.

    That's because I hide it so damn well. That and the guy to girl ratio at my college is 10:1. I don't have the odds in my favor. I would have to say though, sometimes my friends are right, I do seem asexual, but there are definitely girls out there that do it for me. Not often, but it happens.

    I do have a friend that is extremely homophobic and NEVER has any sexual output/thoughts/ etc. unless someone else brings it up, and even then it's just a throw-away comment to get us off his back :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. I think everyone's sure that he's asexual or (only because of his extreme homophobia) gay.

    I never talk about sex or show any sexual feelings towards others whatsoever, so almost all of my friends have unanimously dubbed me asexual. I can assure you though, I'm most certainly not. >.< I'm just not comfortable discussing those things with... well, anyone really.

    Yes, a few times. I'm effeminate only in the non-campy sort of way, and though I'd answer honestly if anyone asked, I'm not officially out to any schoolmates. Because of that, and because I never really bring up the subject of sex, I suppose I put off an asexual vibe.

    After I came out to one of my friends, for a month all he would do was say
    "...I don't see it." or "I think you're just asexual and like guys" He's not very smart.

    When I came out to my sister, she asked, "So that's why you've always seemed so strangely asexual to everyone close to you?"

    At times I thought I was asexual, as being homosexual was mentally off-limits.

    Means you have no sexual feelings for either gender whatsoever. Im not sure if you can be horny if your asexual or not :S so im definitely not one :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
