I was browsing one of my local jewelry shops earlier and the woman serving me decided to essentially moan at me for my choice of stretching my ear...
long story short this got me thinking.
I know what my family think about stretching ears, but in general what do you guys think of it?

I personally like them up to around 14mm which after that I think they start looking stupid (my right ears been at 8 for quite a while now)

anyone else have stretched ears? or do you hate them?

    turn off or turn on?

Yep, I have stretched lobes. Right now at 6.5mm but want to go up to somewhere between 10 to 14mm. My parents hate it, some friends don't get it, but most responses I get are either neutral or positive.

Its mostly older people I've found tat have issues with them tbh.. like the occasional dirty comment from an old lady on the bus..
most of my college friends don't get it but have gotten used to it (although one does do stupid comments every few days)

I personally don't get it, but I don't have a problem with it for other people.

As long as they are not really really big, I don't mind them. It's not something that I would do myself though.

I have to say, as someone who likes other body modifications, I don't really "get" gauges. I don't mind small ones, but I think the larger they get, the more ridiculous they look. Of course, people can do what they want with their own bodies. I know it sounds a bit hypocritical, but I love tattoos, like certain piercings, and am at best neutral on stretched ears.

Gauges can look cool, but it's a turn-off for me as far as physical attraction if that makes any sense. There are exceptions, but I generally don't like tattoos.

Personally they're a really huge turn-off. 8mm isn't that bad, but anything more than that looks really tacky to me.

Unless he's got them stretched out large enough that they get in the way, then I don't mind. They can be hot, and sometimes they aren't. It all depends on the dude for me. But if he rocks them, likes them, and they don't interfere with anything, then who am I to complain?

    I don't have them, but I like them
I love body modification. I'm a total ink head and I've had my share of piercings.
I haven't gauged because I'm not sure how it will effect my other piercings on my ear.

Ignore people and do what makes you happy. You're allowed to decorate your home :]

depending on what I wear in them they can be barely noticeable.

the weirdest reaction I had was someone wanting to touch my ear..

Up to about 8mm is a turn-on. I can't stand the big ones. Sometimes it looks like guys put cock rings through their ears- that's disgusting. If they're small enough that you wouldn't need surgery to make your ears look half-way normal again, they're fine.

I wouldn't do it myself (I'm more of a tattoo person), but I have a ton of friends and a few exes that have gauges. I agree that anything up to 14mm can be attractive, but anything too much above that is pushing it for my personal tastes. It also completely depends on the person. Some people can pull it of really nicely. Some just can't...

The thing I don't like about it is that I don't think it's very attractive if you take them out. Other than that, I kind of feel like "it's fine on you, but not for me, thanks."

I think they're awesome. I'm only at a 14g right now but my goal is a 2g  My gf started the process today! So, in my opinion, self-expression of any kind is beautiful. People are beautiful. Whether they express themselves via tattoos, piercings (stretched or not) hair, makeup, clothing, etc. or not.

I think they're pretty hot, especially on girls.

I don't have any nor would I want any but it doesn't bother me if a friend wanted to get it done. I do find it to be a huge turnoff though.
