Is One Direction Gay?

Yes, clearly.

 

If you're asking whether I think the band members are gay, then my answer is no. They're more bromantic than anything, imo.

If you're asking if listening to them is gay, then no, it absolutely isn't. I learned recently that one of my straight male friends actually likes a few of their songs.

 

If that's bromance, then clearly I don't know what gay is .

 

Only in the pejorative sense. Every young male singer or singing group that's popular with "the kids" ends up going this route. One Direction, Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, O-Town, New Kids on the Block, Menudo, the Osmonds, Jackson Five, etc etc. Of course, a couple of them DID end up being gay (can you name two from the list above?), but no more than any other group of the same size.

Basically that. I've never listened to or seen One Direction, but a lot of media tends to involve some degree of "fan service" that includes homoerotic subtext (or sometimes more blatant displays). I'm not sure how prominent it is in Western bands, but many Japanese and Korean bands are known to do it. The teenage girls --- and me when I was younger --- tend to eat it up.

 

I think a lot of it is to just make them seem "cute" and appeal to their target demographic (i.e. girls and, who are we kidding, gay guys). AND IT FUCKING WORKS.

I don't mind me some 'Ziam' as it were. I did listen to their new song though and my damn it's catchy.

To his credit, I just didn't understand the appeal when he was a pre-pubescent child with nightmarish hair. But I actually rather like some of the latest songs I'm hearing on the radio from him.

Lyrically, One Direction is annoying and silly. Some great hooks that are better than a lot of other pop music out there. But all that good will is negated by the corny lyrics.

 

I doesn't have the one where they are all sitting on a bench, and Louis puts his hand down behind Harry, and a moment afterwards he straightens up with a weird look on his face and Louis gets a sly smile.

At first I thought they were when I found out they have all seen eachother naked, but they aren't. Most of them have girlfriends.

I am pretty good on reading people and picking up things, so would I say that the group is gay, no. Though I have my own opinions on specific members. There are many people in the entertainment business who are gay and are aware of it, but choose not to vocalize it. Especially in the music business, because even though the girls love the "cuteness", knowing that they are actually gay would put a damper on the "Hes is singing to me" and "I will marry him" factor lol.

 

I highly doubt any of the One Direction members are gay. Not sure how bromance is like in the UK, but some of my friends get really touchy feely. They're just really comfortable about their sexuality. As for 1D, I really don't want them any of them to be gay, as odd as that sounds.


On a side note, Liam is always getting groped!

 

I will just say that while I'm not a huge fan, I have some friends who are totally and completely obsessed. Honestly, ask them any question at all, e.g. What colour is Louis's toothbrush, or What was Harry's first pet's name, or What's Liam's favourite t-shirt, they'll know the answer.
1D is not gay. They're just really close, and heaps of videos are just filmed in a weird way so it looks like they're gay, but they're not.
Though, like Gen said, sometimes I have my doubts.

I don't know if they are gay but in MY opionion I think some are I don't now that bad very well but some come off as gay to me..... I hope zayn is gay though I know of him
