Today the judge did the RIGHT thing and lifted the injunction placed against our Oregon Domestic Partnerships! Today at 4:30 PM, same-sex couples can register for legally recognized relationships in Oregon! (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) I'm so happy!!!!
Very exciting news! Another step forward. One day, I hope that future generations will never have to think about these issues.
This is America, we shouldn't have to think about them. The first amendment of our constitution Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression should be clear enough.
I never really saw why it was such a problem in the first place. If 2 ppl r in love, then should they not get married? Goon news to hear though! CONGRATZ!
That's great, I hope the same happens Nation-Wide, it will send a message to other countries if that happens.
Congratulations Becky and all of you who have been campaigning for this. (!) I hope those who had their plans scuppered earlier this year haven't suffered financially too much and are able to go ahead as planned now.
Congratulations!!! All your hard work campaigning paid off! I think all those newly weds owe you a drink or three now
I get to go to my first same-sex wedding on the steps of the courthouse next Saturday, my birthday! What a great birthday treat!!!! There will be city officials, Senators, and the media present! My good friend Mike and his partner Kelly who have been together 15 years are getting hitched.
Yay, great news! Now the whole west coast has some sort of recognition. Although I'm not too sure on the timing. It might backfire on us like Massachusetts in 2003. =X
:eusa_danc (!) CONGRATS!:eusa_danc (!) It's always great when we come one step closer to equality. Now, if only the rest of America be more open-minded then maybe I'd be able to marry!
This is exciting news also! We're getting closer to full marriage equality! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/02/n...02619600&en=63a290c036739c85&ei=5070&emc=eta1
We had 14 couples in Deschutes county get domestic partnered yesterday including friends, Steve and Dan, who had been together 11 years. They also become grandparents! Steve said not to turn Dan loose in the baby store because he goes crazy. Their very stylish house is now decorated with baby furniture. I'm very happy for them. What a great day!
I had to share this picture with you guys. It was taken in Eugene, Oregon where people were registering. I love it!
