I just saw these in West Hollywood. They're on Santa Monica and San Vicente. Not the best picture, oh well.
Cool. Always wanted to see West Hollywood in LA. (And the Castro in San Francisco). We don't really have these sorts of things on the East Coast so much. The gayness of New York City's supposed gayborhoods is way overstated, and they've been mostly taken over by wealthy straight people by now. Same with Boston. While it's great that LGBTQ communities are becoming more integrated, it's still cool to see things like rainbow sidewalks in certain areas of a city.
No you don't, it's so expensive here. I'd like to get out here someday, but I probably won't, since there are a lot of jobs for my major here.
Public service announcement: these are pedestrian crossings, not sidewalks. A sidewalk is the part that is adjacent to and alongside the road and does not intercept it.
