To my Knowledge, lent starts tomorrow Feb. 5th... I was just curious, if you are catholic, what are you giving up? or anything at all? Ima give up soda...I live on that stuff so I'm having a liter of pepsi as I sit here...hahaha. Ash wednesday tomorrow too...Me and Tokarov's private school we have mass...oh yay....(sarcasism) Just curious.
I go to a catholic school, but I don't think I am gonna give anything up this time.... =/ I also have school mass tomorrow... I didn't know it was Ash Wednesday... =o Andand... umm, isn't it Febuary 5th today? =/

yea ash wednesday is after mardi gras(today).....and i am a catholic, BUT, i want to become non-denomination, cuz i dont believe in everything that they teach....so yea....i might give up something or not...idk yet....
I'm not Catholic, but a friend of mine wants me to do that with her; I might give up internet. :/ Either that or haircare products ._. Or phone. And idk which one's worse, lol.
ummm...u do know that the whole lent thing and giving up something last till easter sunday...? so yea....if ya give up internet...u give it up for a long time....just sayin...
Yeah I know, but my friend said it's that, phone, or us fixing our hair with nice stuff. :/ I mean I can use internet for school and stuff, but no myspace, no deviantart, no youtube, no EC .__. So yeah.
I'm catholic but I'm probably not gonna give up anything. I stopped doing that awhile ago. And when I did actually give up something, I never made it lol.
the funny thing is...even though i want to become non-denomination, I have ALWAYS made it during the lent season, no matter what i have given up...
I'm giving up meat + junk food. And since my entire family is, it shouldn't be that hard. And did you know that sunday counts as "little easter" so you're allowed to binge once a week during lent
lent is about the 40 days and 40 nights that jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. the fact that catholics "cut-off" something during that time represents a type of fasting like...abstanance, giving up meat etc. lent is told to be the fast in preperation of the great feast. that geat feast is called "Easter" and lent ends on good friday personally i have decided to stop eating all types of animal protein and i have started dieting on Tofu. tofu is good if it's prepaired properly. so yea...that's the story behind lent and yes i am cahtolic and go to a catholic school :dry:
I might give up hot chips, maccas etc cos I tend to eat hot chips when I cant be bothered making something proper, but I know they're not good for me. Im not sure if Ill be able to keep that going for 40 days tho...
