So the other day, while I was stumbling around the interweb (Using StumbleUpon) I came across some post about the freakiest insects (sorry lost the link... :-\) and on it, it had a video of a bot fly... I watched it last night, and ALL day long today I kept having flashes of the bot fly larvae being removed... I seriously cannot stop thinking about it, mostly because it is so bizarre. I think the bot fly is pretty fascinating, I hope you guys enjoy too Basically, the bot fly lays eggs on a mosquito, and that mosquito transfers the eggs to you when bitten. On contact the eggs hatch and burrow into your skin and feed on your blood. Here's a video of bot fly larvae removal... Not for the squeamish. i've heard of this insect before..i think it lives mainly in African nations and the extraction of the insect is really really painfull!
Geesh, I couldn't even watch it. Last night when I clicked it and it said "Are you squeamish?" I was just like, yes, and I closed the window x__X.
I watched the whole thing a while ago.. And it's just REALLY gross. x_x aljdhakljhdughlsruhglskuhdfgl;smuihm;caiushc eww...
That was pretty much my reaction to it... I just couldn't believe how BIG they were... that must've been extremely uncomfortable
Oh my god! Someone hold me >< That was disgustin but intrestin. I would have just got the larva out and burned them.
HAHAHAHAHA nice description But it was too gross sounding for me to watch :X My texas cousins got these little bugs in their backs, but all you had to do for them was put nail polish over their breathing holes and they'd die.........in your back...(eeeeeeeeeew).
....No longer hungry... thank you botfly for helping my with a diet... one I didn't intend to start...
...oh gods...I just found some bugs on the back of my shirt befor I saw this vid...and now I'm parinoid! DX
It kind of looked like he had pimples on his back. Can you imagine thinking they're pimples, squeezing them, and then having those things come out? Very interesting. I feel nerdy.
