Well, did you tell her going into the porn industry might not be the best choice?

Why do you consider porn stars to be role models for you?

What is she considering doing the porn for? Like an actual career? Or just some fast cash?
I would tell her that there are so much more less degrading ways to make some money. But in the end, it's her choice. If after you state your position, give your reasoning and offer some alternatives, she decides that she is still going to do it, then you need to respect her decision.

Yes I told her that porn will ruin her life goals. And they are role models in the way they stay in shape and have great bodies (shallow I know) and yes she wants fast cash she's from a family with little money. She's a really good friend I've mentioned her before if anyone read my thread before on her spending like I spend when she can't afford to. I don't know why she would do this to herself she has a modeling gig already and will make money from that! So idk what's she's thinking I've told her not to do it! She's like "well I want juicy stuff and I can't afford it ATM" I'm like I will buy it for you consider it a early Christmas gift I told her I would buy her what she wants as long as she doesn't do a porno. I really don't want to see her ruin her life!

I believe that the decision to do porn is something that each person should carefully consider, but I also don't think it is anywhere near the career-crashing thing that it was even 5 years ago. Porn is rapidly becoming pretty mainstream, and there are a fair number of people who have done porn and either crossed over into mainstream media and advertising, or moved on to respectable careers. It is, however, not easy to move from porn into most types of modeling, so if she is developing a modeling career, it is likely that porn will negatively impact that.

In any case, though, doing porn simply to earn quick cash now is the totally wrong reason to do it. The people I know that have done it and remained happy about it years later are people who are very comfortable with themselves and their bodies, have a very open and sex-positive view of themselves, and genuinely enjoy sex and like the idea of others watching them having sex.

The thing I don't think most people consider is that once it's out there... it's out there. You can't put the genie back in the bottle, and in the Internet era, it *will* be around pretty much indefinitely. It isn't life-ruining, but it is something that will be around in later years. Another factor to consider is what sort of work it is. Some is pretty degrading, while other work isn't. And while there are some honorable people in the industry, there are also an awful lot of shady people.

Finally, if you are not a US citizen, or have a US green card or work visa (very difficult to get), then you cannot legally shoot adult content in the US, and the vast majority of porn produced for North America is produced in the US; there are very few legitimate Canadian producers.

All of that said, if people really think about it, spend time considering the potential future impact, and decide they're cool with it then... some people have a great time and are happy they did it. I just feel like it is something each person has to consider carefully for themselves.
