well we all know, that the stereotypes don't apply to many when it comes to being LGBTQ

But do any of you use stereotypical "gay signs"?

Such as a ring on the middle finger, or pointer, or thumb? (it keeps changing)

What is it that you do?

Do other people straight or non see it? or recognize it?

I've always thought that wearing a watch on the right wrist is a sign, i tried wearing my watch that way and i didnt like it. It just feels weird and wrong. But as always with these sort of signs, every person ive ever seen wear a watch on the right wrist are straight (as far as i am aware).

I have never heard of that one, I always thought the rule of thumb was a man wears his watch on the hand he doesn't write with. There are so many different signs that come and go now.

    Not intentionally
Buuuuut I'm almost always perceived as lesbian, so I must be doing something stereotypically gay lol

  5. I didn't intentionally do it, but I have only my right ear pierced, which is/was apparently supposed to be a "gay sign" from what I've heard. No one's ever commented on it.

I think my sign is that I hang out with a lot of girls.

I don't act to frilly, but not that masculine.

I've asked the people I told if they thought I was gay before. They said they would not have guessed I was gay.

Nobody guesses that I'm gay :/ I'm not all that masculine either...

I often use my eyes to flirt or indicate that I'm interested in somebody, that seems to work well. Other than that, nope.

I wear a rainbow pin on my bookbag. I'd say that's a pretty definite sign.

I love wearing scarves  I guess that's pretty... obvious. Haha.

I've heard of most things on the right-side being called tells... but that doesn't make sense to me... :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: What's it matter which wrist you wear a bracelet on, or which ear you have pierced? Hah... I think it just adds to internalized homophobia for people who are coming to terms; they don't want to seem gay, so they do whatever is NOT a tell... how restricting...

I wear a rainbow bracelet, I would hope that it is a pretty big clue.

Yes, I do this as well. It's gotten a few glances but my personality and style is far from "gay" so no one gives me a second glance.

I have a few people ask me what it was and a few ask me if I'm gay since they recognized the colors.

I don't think I have any gay signs. I'm under the alias of a straight man.

Nobody was surprised I was when I told them. I asked what it was that gave me away and they said it was just things I said and did. They couldn't really put their fingers on it.

As for signs. The only one I heard of was that gay women wear a purple bracelet. And if it's on their right hand their single and on their left they're spoken for. But strangely enough...I've never seen any gay woman do this! :eusa_doh:  As for the earring one, I think I've heard it, can't be sure. But I'd be in trouble and deemed confused ad both my ears have two peircings!

I used to wear a pinky ring, it made a few question me at a straight bar.

I see a lot with the middle finger ring or pointer ring now. Along with the rainbow things.

I highly doubt scarves are sexuality telling. That feeling of scarves wrapping your neck and walking around like a boss/ man? I don't see that gay at all! :roflmao:

No, I don't have any yet, but my voice already gives me away. Just for the super thick, I was thinking of getting a bi-pride bracelet.

I use stripped knee socks and Thigh Highs (even at work), does that count?
