So this has to be one of the coolest goals ever. Jump to 20 seconds to see it.

i thought that was against the rules?

I guess i don't know the rules very well. I have watched a lot of hockey, but almost no ice hockey.

You can kick the puck, but you can't kick it into the goal. Which is why he kicked it up to his stick.

If Patrick was allowed to go all the way with this I think it would have been the greatest goal ever...

I have all of the Canucks games on my google calendar. I need to take them off as it makes me sad every time I look at it.

Austin does have an AHL team, so at least I'm not having to go cold turkey.

I really can't complain about the Jets coming back to Winnipeg. The only downside is that our AHL team went to St. John's.

When the 04/05 lockout happened my old man and I would go to the local junior playoff games. I might just have to start attending a few of their games again. Heck, I work a block from their rink.

Awesome, I just heard about it this morning. I'm still a little angry at the league and to a lesser extent the players but I'm sure I'll get over it pretty quick. It really amazes me what a change an NHL team had on an otherwise drab city. It made downtown seem like less of a shithole (at least on game nights) and local businesses thrived. It sucks that a lockout had to happen. It was certainly more than just the owners and players losing money from not playing.

Although I'm still a Canucks fan at heart and will be rooting for them for many years to come I thought I'd show a bit of local colour with my spiffy new avatar.

I am extremely excited for the season to start!

I'm hoping the Sabres can sneak into the 6th or 7th spot, but they definitely have some flaws.

The Rangers are my pick to win it all - they're absolutely stacked everywhere.

Hockey goal celebrations are the absolute best thing ever. It doesn't even have to be my team, I just replay celebrations in my head and get so stoked. Damn, I'm glad the NHL (even though I hate you!) is back.

That Roy video will never not be funny. :roflmao:

Hockey fans, help me out! I want to get into hockey, as I grew up along the US-Canada border and always liked it. I am hoping to go to some professional matches soon. But now I finally have time to watch, but I got rid of my cable. Anyone know where on the internet I can watch games live or soon after they're played?

And although this may not be the right crowd, anyone who knows where I can find the same for WNBA games also, I'd appreciate it...

Heh, love that commercial. Molson's. not so much.

I haven't been to a hockey game in years, but my Blues jerseys are hanging in my closet from when I went to a TON of them when I lived in St. Louis.

Guess I have to go see a Rangers game now - I've missed it being on TV, missed everything about it. Problem is that tickets (especially Rangers tickets) are *so* expensive, and I'm one of those spoiled brats that can't sit in the upper bowl.

    Yeah NHL tickets are expensive.

I say $25 for second row seats for our AHL team. Last NHL game I went to I paid $50 for second row from the top.

The lock out really messed up my plans. I had planed to fly up to Vancouver around the holiday's and catch a game. Not sure when I can do it now.

We are ramping up a big project at work, going to be hard to get away the next few months. I might be able to make it up to Dallas. That is if they play in Dallas this year. With the shortened season, won't know until the schedule is released.
