    Hey guys,
just wondering who your favorite LGBT couple is in TV/ the movies?
I love Ian from Shameless but he is way to good for Micky :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Also a big fan of Mitch and Cam from modern family, and Susan and Carol from Friends haha. What about you?

Agree with the Shameless bit but my favorite is Thad Stone and Patrick Thomas from the movie "The Family Stone". One's black. One's deaf. They're both awesome <3

It might be just because I watched it last night, so it's fresh in my mind, but I love Valerie and Ruth in V for Vendetta.

Well, Lark and Rosethorn from the Circle of Magic series by Tamora Pierce is one of few examples of a mature, long-term, established same-sex relationship. It's not the focus of the series, it's not even stated outright until the ninth book, but it's good.

Jack and Ianto from Torchwood, mainly because of the character development it inspires for Jack. Oh, and for

the death scene. Really touching, and heartbreaking at the same time

    Ianto: I love you

    Jack: Don't.

None of you will have heard of this series, much less know the characters, but the relationship between Carnelian and Osidian in The Stone Dance of the Chameleon by Ricardo Pinto is one of my all-time favorite depictions of a romantic/sexual relationship ever. Because it doesn't work. Carnelian and Osidian are too different to ever be a couple. They have what they think is love at first sight, and it...isn't. It's lust and infatuation, nothing more. The relationship is over pretty quickly into the second book. But they continue to interact, and their interaction after their breakup is equally fascinating. The Stone Dance of the Chameleon comprised of The Chosen, The Standing Dead, and The Third God is sadly out of print. While not perfect (the books are waaaaay too long), I highly recommend it if you get your hands on it.

Lofty and Tonker in Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett. They're never officially declared a couple, but they're obviously an item. Two utterly broken people who have come together because they have no one else. It's not sweet, it's not touching, but it's very well written.

Strictly speaking any relationship between Dwarfs in Terry Prachett's Discworld series might apply as Dwarven culture doesn't acknowledge any distinction between the sexes and courtship is partially a matter of trying to very politely find out whether the other Dwarf is male or female. Sam Vimes, a human, watches a Dwarf opera about two lovers and keeps trying to work out which is the male and which is the female, to the complete perplexity of the rest of the audience.

And then there's all my headcanon pairings, but they probably don't qualify.

Oh, and I'd like to say that I'm no longer a huge fan of David and Jonathan (from I Samuel in the Bible) as a romantic pairing after hearing my Old Testament professor discuss the strong likelihood that David was about eight or ten years old when he was anointed and met Jonathan.

Willow & Tara from Buffy! One of the first (that I know of) long-term lesbian relationships on TV involving main characters.

For some reason your post made me think of a really great relationship, even if it's not necessarily gay and they aren't really a couple: the Fool and Fitz in Robin Hobb's Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies. The Fool is probably one of my favorite characters in all of fantasy.

This. I really liked the idea of them being a couple. But I was disappointed with Daja, it felt shoehorned and stereotypical. I think Sandry would have been the better choice.

Wait can we post characters that aren't going out but it's obvious they're in love? If so than Jori (Jade and Tori from Victorious)
