A friend showed me this last night and at the time, I wasn't able to watch it in full (out of fear that it would induce nightmares, really), but when I got back from classes, I gave it a go, and it's easily one of the most troubling things I've ever listened to. I can't imagine what it would be like to live with auditory hallucinations, and listening to this has given me a better understanding of what people who do suffer from them go through. I recommend giving it a listen though.

Don't know if it counts as auditory hallucinations, but usually when I go to sleep I hear bits of conversations and music... I do understand it's all in my head though
E: as a disclaimer they are completely unintelligible and don't suggest me to do things.

I find this amusing but also scary. I had to turn on my volume to hear it well.

    Thanks for opening my view!

    That's not 24 hours....

Oh yes, that's right.... I can't even begin to imagine what it would feel like to have that kind of mental state.

From what I understand from what I've read, the stage where we transition from consciousness to sleep this is very likely to happen if your mind is aware of the transition. Most of the time we're not aware of the switch, but if our mind is not quite ready and our body's already checked out auditory hallucinations are common. So is feeling like there's something else in the room with you, out of body experiences etc. My sister called me to her room screaming one time because she started to fall asleep and she saw something watching her from her chair, even though her eyes were closed; I explained all this to her and said it was either that or the masked man from Marble Hornets was in her room. She chose the first theory.

Huh. When I think I had this a several couple of times around the beginning of adolescence, but all I heard was music--like it was inside of my ears. Creepiest thing ever. Happened when I was REALLY overtired. Haven't heard it since I was 13.

The multilayered voices that start sounding simultaneously after the first minute are what I hear in my head just before I fall asleep. The nasty insults and mockery, I've never heard those.

Despite never being told to jump now. This is mostly my brain in a nutshell. I always have a racing mind that never shutups, always overanalyzing everything and always making myself feel bad. I can't wear a top I like because I'm told I'm ugly by my thoughts. Then there is the fact that I writes novels, so a bunch of imaginative ideas come at me all at once.

I listened to this to see if it was similar to what I hear.. And it's kinda similar. I just get the insults/mockery sometimes.
