Bad sex awards 2012 shortlist leaves out JK Rowling and EL James

I just thought I'd share this. Some of the extracts from the shortlisted novels are so cringeworthy and terrible I could not help but laugh. Here's one example:

The Adventuress: The Irresistible Rise of Miss Cath Fox by Nicholas Coleridge: - In seconds the duke had lowered his trousers and boxers and positioned himself across a leather steamer trunk, emblazoned with the royal arms of Hohenzollern Castle. 'Give me no quarter,' he commanded. 'Lay it on with all your might.'

I suppose the question in relation to this article is: Do you worry that for novels, to be successful now that they there has to be romance and/or sex?
