    In your opinion, what do you think is the best thing/s about the country you live in?

    Australia
    • The smell of the country - especially once compared to places like Sydney.
    • Vegemite. (friggin' love me some Vegemite!)
    :thumbsup:

    There are probably other things I love about Australia, but those are the two that pop into my mind :lol:

    My country speaks for itself :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
    I'd add peace and polar bears to this list.
    Just don't cuddle with a polar bear.

    I second this, as well as:

    - Generally good reputation with other countries
    - The fact that we actually get 4 proper seasons (currently: SNOW!)
    - Canada's not always a "destination" in the same way other places are for travel, but it's certainly a place to call home. :slight_smile:

    Going to venture off for a sec~

    Southern United States
    ~Food. I generally hate the south, but I've tried all different kinds of cuisine from so many different cultures, but I find that I like nothing better than the "sho' 'nuff" food of the southern United States. xD (Even if one meal can give you a heart attack. :lol: )

    *raises hand* Oooh, oooh! Then let me answer for you, since I'd *love* to be living in your country (and may before the end of next year)!

    (1) The natural beauty (such a small place and yet somehow beats the US and Canada together in physical beauty);
    (2) The whisky;
    (3) Amazingly friendly people;
    (4) Best damned fish and chips on the planet.

    And yes, (5) the haggis!

    My countries are England and the US (dual citizenship. Born/grew up in the UK, lived in New York for the last 13 years).

    Overall, I like England better because of the
    -public transportation
    -food
    -TV
    -less entitled, obese morons
    -healthcare system
    -weather (I know, but when it's -25F here...)
    -rural areas

    People are just so darn polite
    Our unity (during hockey season - especially world jr's/ olympics)
    The beautiful environment
    The high possibility of a woman having a maple leaf tattoo hidden somewhere :wink:
    Multiculturalism also means the best of all worldly foods (yum!)
    We still have a company that makes Twinkies :slight_smile:

  16. the scottish do eat an awful lot of fried food, like pizza crunches (deep fried pizzas... barf) and stuff. i cant eat any cuz my tummy doesnt like fried food at all, even most takeaways :frowning2:

    glaswegian accents are another good thing though ;D
    i agree they are the friendliest :grin:

    Wow, i've got three (UK, Australian, Hong Kong) but i'm just gonna talk about the place i'm currently living in:

    Hong Kong
    - multicultural
    - food oh glorious food!!!
    - convenience- there is nowhere in this city that takes more than 45 mins to travel to unless you're cycling or walking
    - really fast transport- the Metro company recently decided to buy 500 new trains because the waiting time of 3 minutes per train is "terribly slow"
    news.gov.hk - Categories - Infrastructure & Logistics - MTR increases train services
    - Trendy- we literally follow trends in step with New York and London, and we are one of the trendsetters in Asia.

    That flag is cool!

    Netherlands:

    -Gay marriage
    -Good access to foreign foods (We have a boooring cuisine ourselves, but immigrants have brought cool stuff)
    -Relatively cheap and good universities
    -Easy to go by bike to almost everywhere

    ~Oppertunity. For having arguably the easiest social class mobility in the world, I think many Americans take advantage of the oppurtunities that we have. But still for those that do care about going somewhere in life it is important.

    Now for California specifically....

    ~The weather/environment. I love the weather in California. Its never too hot or too cold. Except we often complain when it is 100 or 60 outside :lol:. I also like my environment because I live in a very diverse sector of the states. I'm an hour away from San Fransico and the Bay, and only a few hour trip to San Diego and LA. Heck Las Vegas is only a 30 minute plane ride lol.

    ~And of course, Diversity.
