This isn't just for North American (Canada,US) what I mean is to other countries yes, we have an accent to them LOL so my question is does anyone prefer an accent different from their own? Would you specifically look for this accent when looking to date?

Oh boy. This is funny because I was just thinking of this. British/Australian/New Zealander accents get me ALL fired up.

I would looooooooove to date someone with a British accent. Or a German accent as well.

    Accents are hot.

I like pretty much any other accent. In the English-speaking world, i'd say my favorite is probably a Scottish one  oh my god. its so hot
...But there's just to many to choose from in the whole world, i think

The thread title is a bit misleading: surely we all have accents?

Scottish/Irish. Pretty much any English accent that isn't American.

No offence to any Scots, but...

    ...really?

This video is no representation of the genuinely (genuinely) lovely city of Glasgow whatsoever.

I love the accent in that video. Even if I only understood the word "tattoo" and nothing else.

absolutely! i love different cultures, and i love being around people who have different worldviews and have had different experiences than i have (such as living in a different country). different different different different, hahahaha. and i also love learning foreign languages so if their accent comes from a non-english speaking country then that's even more fun

My favourite British accents are the two that make up my own, oddly enough: received pronunciation and West Wales. The former is very rare in people this side of 40 though, having been replaced by Rah. Still, some German and one South African accent I've heard sound like a better, distilled version of British RP to me and I like some Southern, Texan and "Jello Belt" accents I've heard (on television!) too.

Nope, although people have said mine is awesome, but that's mainly people with irritating accents; Geordies, and a few from Aus (but they're alright)

Although it sounds interesting...many accents make me unable to hear them. If it is a thick Mexican one, for example, I just get a few words. So dating one? Not unless they shut up and sign. And then what is the point of the cute accent if they can't talk with me? So I am going to say no cuz I is Deaf.

I love the Scottish accent. Maybe because my ancestry is Scottish  but there's this woman who works in a coffee shop and she's georgous and straight and she sounds so sexy when she asks what coffee you'd like! :icon_bigg

I'm not an accent person. Although sometimes, a certain type of voice with a certain accent can annoy me. XD But if I had to list one, I'd say that a *slight* Southern American accent spoken with correct grammar is very sexy.
