I will attempt divinity, and asian haystacks. http://www.wheatlandumc.org/pages/History/Links/Recipes/recipes/DivinityFudge.jpg the haystack one i recall from childhood: butterscotch and peanut butter chips, melt, stir in spanish peanuts, Chow Mien town crop noodles, and mini marshmallows. put mounds onto wax paper and cool.
German Butter Cookies, Pumpkin Pie, and my personal favorites, Strawberry Shortcake and a Cheesecake Bar.
I'm going to attempt (and probably fail) to make a tarte fine aux pommes. Luckily there will be plenty of other desserts, so I don't have to worry too much about screwing up!
cookies: choc chips, russian tea cakes, praline bars, oatmeals, spritzes, gingersnaps, sugar cookies (and i usually make snickerdoodles, but this year we had a freaky kitchen fire and, well, they died. and i'm not re-doing them) pies: apple (possibly two), cherry, maybe pudding and noodle kugel, which i consider both dessert and a meal, though it'll be served with dinner.
I've already got the chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies out of the way. Next I start with peanut butter cookies and snickerdoodles, then lemon bars, grasshopper pie, coconut cream pie, and an apple pie.
I've been tweeting incessantly about my holiday baking endeavors. I made eight pounds of fudge last week. I've already made (and eaten) several things. Today I'm making some of the offerings I'll attempt to leave for Santa. Chocolate chip cookies are next on my list, but I've made my very own gingerbread army, spearmint shortbread stars, chocolate Christmas cookies, chocolate crackle cookies (they look like zebra stripes almost - and have become a new classic staple of the Yuletide for my family). I have to scrounge up some gobs at my mother's request. Rounding off my done and devoured list are eggnog cookies, vats of hot chocolate and hot cocoa and heaps more things I simply can't recall... Oh!! And tomorrow I will be making pancakes (which I dedicate all of my 19th summer to developing the perfect recipe for...) for breakfast with some vanilla and pear compote for topping them with. Edit: And not to be a führer in the spelling department, but I fixed the title for you. Dessert has two "s's" because we always want two helpings.
OOooops! Hehe I never can spell right, and mom is an English teacher. *blush* Um...I want adopted by all your families cuz I need to try all of this.
